Gear Single bridge pickup 7?
Morning all, this is my current slinger, sterling jp70, I was wondering if there exists a 7 with just a single bridge pickup or am I looking at a custom build? I'm a riffer, not a soloist, and was hoping to find something like the esp RA-600 or JM-1 but in a 7 string. Does such a beast exist?

New Jackson Surfcaster 7 string only has a single bridge pickup. I’m seriously considering one myself.

Yeah interesting, not turned on by the shape however. Probably would sound great though

I love the body shape, the headstock is a little off putting but it’s kind of grown on me. I think I’ll get one eventually.
I’m pretty sure it’s routed under the pickguard for a neck pickup too if one ever were to decide they wanted one

That’s a sick guitar, if only it didn’t have an EMG as those sound so compressed to me. Very nice though 🎸🤘🎶

ESP offers a bunch of LTDs like the other person said. Baritone and regular scale

They are rare but they do exist.
Esp LTD used to have few models of that configuration, like their black metal series and a certain version of SC signature series.
Schecter had a model called Km7 Mkiii Ex, it's a 28inch scale, and it's quiet new.
Kisel also made those stuffs too.

I got two of the LTD Black Metal series and one of the LTD TE 1007B guitars. I would prefer single pickup guitars (and not for chugging either, I just prefer manipulating one thing that's easy to wire versus a switch with other stuff). Oddly enough my main guitar is my only guitar with two pickups though... so maybe I'm just an idiot... anyway. Guitar Center has a used LTD Black Metal 7 right now on the website for 750. Made in Korea and someone changed the black winter out for some crazy rail pickup. Looked fun.

Yes the Stephen carpenter models offer just a single or sometimes a pair of humbuckers at the bridge. Dino Cazares has a sick custom Kiesel guitar you can actually buy directly from Kiesel which is a riff monster with its single SD Retribution humbucker. I believe the LTD from Slaughter to prevail is also a single humbucker guitar. I actually just deleted the neck pickup on my headless 7 by putting a block of wood, sanding it down & doing my own paint job as I am more a Riffer myself. I’m going to install a SD “Mortal coil” which has 3 voices🤘🎸🎶

I took the neck pickup out of my Schecter 7 and just covered the hole with a big sticker. Works for me.

LTD te-1007 baritone would be your best bet imo
