F13 part VII: The New Blood was the first Jason movie I saw in the theater, and for this 12 year old kid, it was great!

Seeing Jason unmasked was epic! Definitely my favorite look.

rewatching right now, i never get tired of watching this movie (seen it so many times since i was little)

I can't understand why pepole are saying things like "This was the scariest movie I ever seen" or "The only 10/10 horror movie", it feels like they watched completely different movie than I did. For me it felt like 90% of the film it was just some old guys talking about nothing in particular, I couldn't help but laugh because how awful it was. I don't know how one can get even remotely scared, unironically, I would be more terrified watching Spongebob. Can someone tell me why it is considered good in a first place?

I’ve always felt the 80s laid the foundation for modern horror. With the exception of Halloween (1978), the '80s birthed the specific subgenres that the bulk of horror movies still follow today.

Very similar themes. Urban decay and a society that didn’t give a shit about anyone else unless it was to exploit them. And then drop in a mentally unstable man who has everything NOT going for them who just wants someone to care.

On today's viewing list...

A favorite since the '80s...'Mountaintop Motel Massacre'. Filmed in '83, but when acquired by New World Pictures, they went & reshot some scenes, along with a modified ending which was rereleased with a new title in '86.

A lot of people write this one off for being low budget, but I think it's a lot of fun. The movie was filmed at an old abandoned fishing village in Louisiana which definitely gives it a creepy vibe. The underground tunnel (which was just a set piece build for filming) where the killer sneaks in & out of to dispatch the victims just adds on to the fun!

And kudos to Vinegar Syndrome for releasing this on a great blu ray release with new extras!

They cover Slither, too but Creeps is an 80s classic!
