Discussion Rewatching

When it was on I watched the last 2 seasons while it was on tv at the time and i just watched short recaps on the previous seasons.. but man it’s my first time watching from start to finish. Im currently on season 2 now.. and wow this show was so unhinged!! Im surprised for a network show how crazy it was.. also all the recognizable faces in the first couple seasons and cameos

I’m rewatching right now too! I watched this show maybe 10 years ago but never finished it. I’m at the “SCREW ALL OF YOU” episode right now and I genuinely forgot how badly they treated Annie and just how insane these plots really were for 15/16 year olds🤣

I know right! These are high schoolers! It’s funny you mention Annie.. because I see so many parallels with Annie and Darcy from degrassi the way they were treated and even some of the plot points are similar

See I have more empathy for Annie than Darcy bc Darcy came out the gate shaming people and acting an ass. Still hate how Peter took advantage of her and jesus the storyline where she was drugged and raped was so awful. Hated she never got closure!

Where I think Degrassi got it right to whereas 90210 got it wrong is having actors that are genuinely the age (or close to it) of their characters. It made their storylines hit so much harder bc they looked so young going through all those plots.

Watching 90210, especially at my age, feels like watching SATC so when I get frustrated with their actions I have to remind myself these 90210 kids are supposed to be young teens🤣

I keep thinking the same thing watching it!! You can tell these are 20 and 30 something year olds playing young teens.. none of them look like kids even a little lol.. I think shenae and Tristan may have been the youngest ones without looking it up.. but the rest of them look like they were pushing 25 to 30 lol
