Discussion Barbra Streisand returned to the official concert stage in 1994 after a 28 year absence. There was sheer mania trying to get tickets. The Concert was a massive deal back then.

Discussion The official shoes of the 90s: KEDS!
I feel like everybody had these growing up in the 90s. The wife doesn’t think guys wore them. I thought I remember them being unisex. Do you remember?

Discussion 90's Storm!! The Goat (Marvel)
galleryEasily one of the best Super Heroine designs imo. Image 4 i think was done by Dave Abbott aka DaveA69.
Storm in her classic silver/white costume is genuinely so sick, her lightning bolt earrings, the double red X-Men logo's, the yellow line going down the left side, the baggy sleeves & the white eyes/hair. It just looks super clean and visually strong.

Photo Me with my mother 30 years ago….
Found this in some of my archive footage…
Man, what happened?!?!
Mom is gone now and the wife I married when that photo was taken is long gone…sheesh!!
I can assure you, this is not what I look like now lol! (However, I am so much happier with my new wife!!!)
You younger folks, please don’t take what you have now for granted!!
(And please, tell your mother you love her, every fucking chance you have!)

Self-Promotion IRC never really went away it seems, and I ended up starting a little network because I missed it
In the past few years, as I was getting more and more into self-hosting, I was wondering which parts of the internet of the 90s I missed the most. I came to the conclusion that it definitely wasn't the slow modems, or waiting five minutes for an image to load (though there was a certain charm to it), but more that it wasn't centralized, there were some really nuts places, and a lot of it was still not in the hands of big corporations.
Then it did strike me that one of the things I really, really loved was chatting, especially on IRC! You never knew who's gonna be online, if you'll meet a random person, or get hit by the usual a/s/l constantly.
IRC didn't disappear, but a lot of the networks did, and that's where I was like hmmm, I could actually host my own IRC network on my home servers :)
It really did start as a small place, named MansionNET, and then oddly enough, and thanks to r/irc, it actually grew to 150+ regulars that are around, chatting about everything and anything.
Additionally, the privacy part was important to me, as more and more online services are harvesting so much data that it's just ridiculous at this point.
Anyhow, not to make this post too long, I wanted to share the place with you all and see if anyone would be interested in checking it out and eventually joining us in our silly conversations.
The details are:
Server: irc.inthemansion.com
Port: 6697
Channel: #lobby
There's also a web client at https://webirc.inthemansion.com/ if you're a bit rusty at setting up your client, which we can gladly help you with if you decide to stick around :)
Also very open to any questions about the setup, more details about what drove me to do this, and pretty much anything else :)
Cheers!
