Hilarious how cops always immediately handcuff a person that’s clearly almost dead and no longer a threat.
19
u/throwitoutwhendone2 14h ago
I was just gonna say that! I love how they shoot someone then handcuff them. I get it, I guess, Some folks may still fight. But I’ve seen them handcuff a dude they just clearly killed before.

u/Syrupsiipin 14h ago edited 14h ago
Another thing worth mentioning…when someone has their hands handcuffed behind their back you can’t do chest compressions/cpr properly but you see them do it anyway. Just pure stupidity all around.
10
u/Aint-no-preacher 14h ago
Ehh...The chest compressions are largely performative anyway, when they bother to do them at all.

he literally could have just kicked her over
12
u/Syrupsiipin 14h ago
I had the exact same thought. She’s built like someone who could be knocked over face first with a stiff shove from behind.

u/DavesNotHereMan92 16h ago
Why didn’t they just tase her off the bat?
33
u/RedWhacker 16h ago
They actually did, but it didn't stop her.
That said they could have easily subdued her in a million other ways without committing a crime.

u/GuillotineWhiskers 15h ago
Just use one of these. Every other country has figured out this problem, but because America the solution is always gun.

u/DavesNotHereMan92 15h ago
Coulda just said cattle prod. If its more than that I don’t read chinese
5
u/GuillotineWhiskers 12h ago edited 11h ago
It's not a cattle prod. Look at the images. There's no shocking mechanism and it is wide enough to go around a person's torso or limbs. They make ones with a wide rubber band on them that wraps a person's torso and arms to their sides and restricts their movement so they can't hurt anyone or themselves. Basically they just tire themselves out, give up and they drop the knife.

u/DavesNotHereMan92 15h ago
I mean they didn’t start tasing till she moved. Shoulda just tased when they had a solid non moving target who was threatening?

u/throwitoutwhendone2 14h ago
Use those things they have in Japan, a pole with huge Velcro straps on it.

u/Maleficent-Block-966 12h ago
Why not just bat? Billy clubs are pretty close non-lethal. I mean weve been using sticks for things like this for pretty much ever.

u/DuckLIT122000 13h ago
Any country whose cops have the equipment and training could have avoided killing her
2
u/SouldiesButGoodies84 8h ago edited 8h ago
Or a taser, pepper spray, plastic/rubber or lead bullets to shoot her in the knee or shoulder, not murder her. edit: word missing

Why is there someone in uniform with a camera in the background? And why is the asshole recording going into a a store he’s not welcome in with a cig in his hand. This is why I wanna disappear into the woods
1
u/BassMaster516 12h ago
I could have handled that without killing anyone. No I’m not being a Reddit tough guy. Like just fucking grab her by the wrists and overpower her and rip the knife out of her hand. Any able bodied man should be able to disarm this elderly obese woman without killing anyone.
If I had another guy helping me we could restrain her without even hurting her.

There's a video of chineese police managing a lady with 2 cleavers with a couple plastic shields and sticks.

u/CharthorneBerries 14h ago
I hate cops but I mean was this really worth posting about? Yeah I agree they didn't need to kill her. American cops should be using less lethal means to deal with situations like this. One shot to the leg... Capture fork... Etc. BUT this lady did quite literally stab two people, kill someone, and then run at the cops holding two knives. And I've seen enough gore videos on the Internet to know a knife being swung like that could easily end someone's life in less than a minute even being used... Like that. So yeah, I agree, they shouldn't have killed her, and I agree that cops are fucked up. But like this specific situation just doesn't seem worth posting. Idk.

I don't see where the police did a damn thing wrong, other than maybe taking a bit too long to do what clearly needed doing.
29
u/podog 15h ago
You might be in the wrong sub my friend.
Did she need to be detained? Sure, she’s stabbing people.
Did she need to be shot to do so? Only if the people doing the shooting are so woefully untrained and incapable of doing their job that they see no other option. Which, with American police, is basically always the case.
11
u/Renhoek2099 14h ago
Hell nah, let em lurk. I want them to see this shit and tell there buddies what we really feel about them

u/Stu_Pendisdick 15h ago
Someone who is mentally unhinged, running around stabbing people, has forfeited their right to oxygenate their blood.
Period.
Full Stop.

So because someone is mentally ill they deserve to die? What the fuck? Look, if she is still actively threatening to take another life and lethal force is necessary to prevent it then by all means, go ahead. But they could have easily subdued her without shooting her in this case and no one else is in danger at this point. They just suck at their job and think guns are the solution to every problem.
13
u/ItsTheDCVR 14h ago
Exactly. She's holding a knife to someone's throat? Sniper gets to take the shot, and it's a shitty outcome that seems unavoidable to extinguish one life instead of two. This case? In lieu of civilized solutions that we don't have in this country, like the elsewhere-linked capture fork, this would be a perfect opportunity for the "less-than-lethal" solutions; proactively taze her, beanbag, bolo, whatever the fuck. For the life of me I don't know why they didn't have a riot shield up against her. She had two knives that she clearly barely knew how to use, and while knives are dangerous as shit and I'm not downplaying that, she was not a trained knife fighter who is dangerous, she's just a person in the middle of whatever episode she was having.
Also, for the love of fucking Christ, start compressions immediately. Hurts my brain to see that shit.

"So because someone is mentally ill they deserve to die?"
Ab-so-fucking-lutely.
Genetic defectives, polluting the gene pool.
One look around Plebbit and the astute observer will see a glaring example of genetic pollution run amok.

You don't seem to me like a good representative of the "gene pool" for what it's worth. But if you want to waste your useless life posting Death Wish bullshit on Reddit, there's only so many ways you can resist help.

In more normal countries like Japan and China they use a traditional capture fork for situations like these. It's non lethal, it's easy to use, doesn't really harm the attacker, just subdues them. Wouldn't even really need police to be the ones using them, the local shopkeeper could probably just pull one out and deal with the attacker.
In America they just kill you. No justice for the families, no trial, no nothing.
