They made up 😭 Either that or Kenny didn't really mean what he said in the first place, and played the vicious heel to motivate his friend. Either way, these two just keep making me cry.

DISCUSSION I just need to talk about that main event

I don't have a lot of wrestling friends, so I'm putting this here. Should anyone care about my opinion, no, but I'm doing this for me. Buckle up, this is going to be a long read.

Am I going to be biased in my opinions of this match because I was lucky enough to be there live? Yes. But this match was, for a fan of indie britwres for a decade, the greatest professional wrestling match of all time. Let me make it clear, this match was something so special to me and goes beyond a simple wrestling match with astounding action.

This was a beautiful piece of goddamn art that belongs in a museum. Every single detail was flawless. It begins with an emotional intro video package for Ospreay that has ruined that song for me now, I can't hear it without getting misty eyed. Following that with the amazing ring walk, surrounded by all the ghosts of Will's career that brought him to this point was enough to bring me to tears in that stadium along with so many others. Then comes Kenny's entrance that is a weebs wet dream. Having the actual voice actor of All Might doing this video package was so damn cool and the content hits so hard knowing Kenny (my all time favourite wrestler) is nearing the end.

Then add the entrances themselves and before we even begin, you could feel the shift in energy in the building. It was the biggest of big fight feels. Then...of course...we get to the actual match. Not a scrap of fat on this one. Everything was somehow crisp, yet looked ragged and dangerous enough to feel real. Kenny was the best version of Kenny we've seen in AEW. This was prime Kenny, best bout machine, the cleaner, by god Omega. His physicality and selling was on point as always, but you could tell he was giving everything to this match. His selling in those final moments will be shown in wrestling schools to show people what real selling looks like.

However, don't think that this was in any way a carry job. Will kept up, and then some, with the greatest wrestler of all time. He sold everything to perfection, the desperate hope spots, the impact of the big moves, it was excellent. And then...it happened. Kenny hits the move that I genuinely believed would never be kicked out of, the One Winged Angle...and Will kicks out. Let me repeat that...WILL KICKS OUT OF THE ONE WINGED ANGLE. I pulled muscles in my stomach from screaming my lungs out of my chest and my voice still, 2 days later, hasn't recovered. This was the greatest pop that I can remember. It then led to the most perfect of finishing sequences.

Those two consecutive kick outs at 1 were just pure, and I hate to say it, cinema. The final definitive Hidden Blade put the old dog down, and we all came unglued. Wembley damn near flooded with tears. I have to talk about the beautiful post match. Kenny, battered and bruised, can't even hand Will the belt. After Will helps him to hand over the belt, they embrace and Will helps a broken Kenny to the back, and brings the whole thing to a close. This was everything I could have ever dreamed of. The match could have easily collapsed under the hype but it somehow exceeded expectations. There will be people who don't like this, and they are entitled to that opinion. But, if you don't like this match, then I honestly don't think wrestling is for you. This was peak professional wrestling and it made me remember why I love this. Pro wrestling is the best art form on the planet, and this was the best example of it.

DISCUSSION "On your left Cap" one of the best comparisons for the Will Osprey entrance. Spoiler

Didn't want to quote this without giving it a proper link. Oli makes a great comparison t the WIll Osprey entrance being one of the best moments in entertainment, not just wrestling and he is so right.

As an MCU fan I felt the exact same for this entrance as I did in Avengers Endgame when you hear that crackling voice, and then the portals open and everyone arrives. Emotional followed by then excitement as the fight (match) happens.

DISCUSSION AEW once again proves that Show don't Tell is the best type of storytelling.

Lets be fair here, Sunday at All In was Osprey "Finishing the story" but, at not one single moment during the build or on Sunday was that shoved down our throats. Instead we where shown his journey, in the short vidoes on youtube showing his journey from neck surgery (if you haven't seen them go, watch, they are so much deeper then just about rehab), in the promos and matches and storylines on TV. Yes we have been told about his career, but we have not been beaten over the head with exposition dumps, or being told how we should feel or what we should think.

This for me is what AEW does so much better, if you think about movies the worst movies are the ones that tell you whats going on, or tell you what to feel or think. Exposition guy, that character who's only job is to tell you exactly what the story is at any given moment. AEW is really god at not doing that, sometimes too good, sometimes the commentators could emphasise story moments now and again when they maybe get a bit muddied, but generally I think one of the reasons I much prefer AEW storytelling is that I am allowed to just absorb it and feel it in my own way.

DISCUSSION I really hope TK has taken note of the positive praise for All In not for what people are saying but what they aren't saying...

While I'm sure most of the praise being heaped on All In has been about the quality of the matches I really pray that TK is paying attention to the one thing that comes up a lot at the end of most of his PPVs "man that was a good/great PPV but it was too long". Not hear a single person complain that All In was too short or didn't have enough matches. For me it was paced perfectly and I didn't feel exhausted by the end, they really hit the sweet spot for me.

More 3-4 hr PPVs please TK! Too much over four and it starts to feel like a slog!

EDIT: I'm not counting the buy in by the way as I rarely watch them tbh!

DISCUSSION Ricochet cameo in Ospreay's All In walk out led me down a rabbit hole

As a newer AEW fan I had many questions come up due to Will's walk out yesterday, especially Ricochet's cameo. This led me to look more into Will's past which of course bring up NJPW BOSJ 2016 - Will Ospreay vs Ricochet. This was a very controversial match and shed more light on the relationship between not just Ospreay and Omega, but also Okada and others. I encourage newer AEW fans to read up on some of this 2010s NJPW lore, it will give you an even bigger appreciation for All In's main event.

Main event:

AEW Women's World Championship

Could be the event to finally have a Women's match as the main event. Also could be time for Fletcher to finally win the big one off of Okada who beats Ospreay at Dynasty.

DISCUSSION The AEW Tag Team Roster is A LOT BIGGER & DEEPER than you think!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg0NqLLsjAY

Here is the complete list of tag teams that more than justify AEW starting a 2-3 month Tag Team League Tournament that also provides rewards and celebrations for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Spoiler - THERE ARE 35 TAG TEAMS UNDER THE AEW ROSTER!

  1. Cope & Christian - Christian Cage & Adam Copeland
  2. Death Riders - Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli and/or Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia
  3. Bang Bang Gang - Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn and/or Jay White, Ace Austin & Juice Robinson
  4. Dark Order - Alex Reynolds & John Silver and/or Evil Uno
  5. Spanish Announce Project - Angelico & Serpentico
  6. The Opps - Anthony Bowens & Hook and/or Katsuyori Shibata & Samoa Joe
  7. Premiere Athletes - Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese
  8. The New Level - Kofi & Austin Creed
  9. Shane Taylor Promotions - Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor
  10. Brodido - Bandido & Brody King
  11. The Demand - Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona
  12. The Swirl - Blake Christian & Lee Johnson
  13. The Hurt Syndicate - Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin
  14. Ro海外 RPG Vice - Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero
  15. Davis & Doyle - Mark Davis & Jake Doyle
  16. The Murder Machines - Brian Cage & Lance Archer
  17. La Faccion Ingobernable - Dralistico & RUSH and/or The Beast Mortos & Sammy Guevara
  18. The Infantry - Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean
  19. FTR - Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood
  20. Motor City Machine Guns - Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley
  21. The Dogs - Clark Connors & David Finlay
  22. Skyflight - Darius Martin & Dante Martin
  23. The Rascalz - Wentz, Dezmond Xavier & Myron Reed
  24. Los Titanes Del Aire - Hologram & Komander
  25. The Conglomeration - Kyle O'Reilly & Orange Cassidy
  26. Private Party - Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen
  27. Jurassic Express - Jack Perry & Luchasaurus
  28. Young Veterans - James Drake & Zack Gibson
  29. The Lethal Twist - Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett
  30. MXM Collection - Mansoor & Mason Madden
  31. El Sky Team - Mascara Dorada & Mistico
  32. The Young Bucks - Matthew Jackson & Nick Jackson
  33. The Kingdom - Mike Bennett & Matt Taven
  34. The Frat House - Cole Karter & Griff Garrison
  35. The Outrunners - Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd

35 tag teams are truly incredible, amazing depth, but this is going to be very difficult to track. How is everyone going to get as much visibility, even in highlights from various teams on that roster? Funny enough, this issue was already solved back in 2020; that is exactly why AEW needs to bring back the Rankings Report:
https://youtu.be/4QGeTHe_bsk

Or at least a better version of it, like a cross between Talking Smack and the NBA Countdown shows:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwnmhpycJfE / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82NmWMKCE0I

Why? Because back in 2020 and 2021, the rankings gave us a clear, logical view of the entire division's landscape. I strongly believe Renee Paquette, Taz, and RJ City should spearhead this on Renee’s own AEW talk show. They could rotate an awesome carousel of guest speakers like Bryan Danielson, Paul Wight, Jeff Jarrett, or Mick Foley.

To make it actually work, every single wrestler interviewed has to stay strictly in kayfabe. The panel should be actively used to progress ongoing storylines, and fans should be able to jump on the AEW website to interact with live voting. The show should also feature backstage interviews and funny, unhinged investigations and other segments involving Lexy Nair and Alex Marvez tracking people down, getting deeper info to enhance storylines and so on:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHdp4zgp22M / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OfuQfVCXVc

Imagine how good it would be to watch Taz and Bryan Danielson sit at a desk, comb through this massive list of 35 teams, and passionately argue about why an obscure duo deserves to move up the ranks to earn a title shot over a top-tier team. Taz could also bring back his "Technique By Taz" breakdowns. I'd love for him to explain why Kenny was ok from receiving the Tiger Driver the way he did and how it is an insanely dangerous move that leaves Ospreay hesitant to use it. He should do this in a way that maintains kayfabe, never exposing the business, and giving guest wrestlers the chance to shine further with storyline advancements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxQ6HaP81Cg

This kind of continuous visibility is exactly what the product is missing right now. On top of what they are already doing, these studio shows are essential to keep us fully immersed in the broader AEW landscape, especially when any of these 35 teams go out and work matches in partner companies.

Man... The AEW Tag Team League should be a dead-serious tournament booked to the tier of New Japan's G1 Climax. If they nail this format, we are in for a historic era of tag team wrestling that would make any promotion on earth envious.

I am going to the upcoming Dynamite/Collision event this upcoming Wednesday (Sep 2). I'm considering making a sign... But not sure what the rules are for it. I can't find any recent updated answers so I was wondering if there are any updated rules for it?

I can't find any rules on if the arena has anything on it either. Help!

AEW is so incredibly special. I stopped watching wrestling in 2012 and when I began following AEW in 2023, wow, it was like a piece of me was back again. Thank you Tony Khan.

DISCUSSION AEW made me feel again

(You may have seen this if you’re in squared circle, it got taken down for whatever reason. This post is probably in the wrong subreddit as well, but I wanted to share this)

Long story short, for the past year of my life, I’ve been sad and miserable. I’m never happy, always depressed, and lost in life at the moment. This past Sunday though changed it for a couple hours. All In made me feel like a kid again. I haven’t felt emotional about professional wrestling since Cody finishing the story at WrestleMania 40.

Every match was fun, the moments were perfect like The New Level’s arrival to AEW, and the main event… man when I tell you the whole video package with Ospreay’s mother and him walking past his wrestling ghosts, the men that made him, as he headed to the curtain to the tune of the The Who’s Baba O’Riley playing made me emotional beyond belief. It was the first time in a long time that I’ve ever cried over wrestling. And then when Ospreay won and started crying, I was balling my eyes out like a baby. I didn’t even do that for Cody winning at Mania 40. Maybe I just needed a good feel moment after all the negative shit going on in my life.

I think it’s easy to say I’m going to start watching AEW on a more regular basis and I know nobody from AEW will see this, but I feel like I have to say thank you. Thank you for making me feel something again even if it was for a few hours.

After such a good time at all in.

A highlight for me is all the people that were so friendly out and about in London.

Anyone with a wrestling T-shirt responded when I said enjoy the show and the conversations on the overground were brilliant.

During the show I sat with friends. The people behind me were loving the show and I turned around singing Judas with them when Jericho came out will be a lifetime memory!

Thanks to all the AEW fans that made my weekend even more memorable!
