Problems with CanadaLife

Hi, I don't know if this is allowed but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction?

It's on behalf of a relative, they are a senior RPN and have been on leave due to mental health issues and severe burnout.

Their insurance through work keeps cutting them off and we can't get anyone to help. They've refused to use communication avenues that are more easily available to client and are currently demanding more absurd amounts of information from four different doctors, who have informed us that they are unable to comply bc insurance has not sent specific enough requests and they can't blanket release info even if patient allows it.

There is no money coming in, no medication coverage, it's a nightmare and due to the severity of the mental issues they can't call and call and send email after email and fight with them. We've suggested we pay for private tests but somehow it's not allowed? The union is not helping either.

I'm so scared of losing them, please if anyone has info on how to retain an advocate or someone to contact who can resolve things quicker, or media outlets or just anything please reach out. They literally can't do this on their own. Red Deer region if that helps.

Have they brought up the concerns with their ability advisor? Usually the advisor can speak to CL and escalate things if applicable.

The ability advisors can be kind of useless and work for the employer. She needs to speak to the union again. If the the employer is asking for more info from Drs she has to provide it. If the Union rep can not help then, she needs to go further up to the President of her local. True that Drs should not have to release specific info re mental health crisis but should be releasing diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis info. She needs to ask for a meeting with the union and employer rep together. They should not be cutting her off insurance for treatment.
