Meme/Joke Act fool, act fool

I’m in the middle of reading one of these lol, there’s the context.
Happens to be the anticipation and intensity was really well done and I almost couldn’t believe the tag but lol, shocker she’s pregnant.

One of the fics I wrote is like this. There’s a ton of buildup and then it skips to a different scene and a different character is like “I mean I could tell you like him but pregnant?!”

As soon as sickness is mentioned I know lmao I don't check tags on longer fics because spoilers but when I do sometimes it genuinely surprises me. 300k word fic, pregnancy tagged, who knows when it'll happen yk

It's not about the reveal from our perspective. It's about the execution.

Kind of want to find a way to avoid this more. I’ve been making my way through a massive fic with a lycanthropy twist and found myself just dreading when it would actually happen. Kind of think I would have preferred I had skipped reading most of the tags and it was a surprise development. The fic is also thorough with chapter summaries and the titles alone reveal enough that I have taken to skipping them until I have read the chapter itself

I have a series where the story starts out with two characters finding out they have an unplanned pregnancy after drunken sex (Mpreg) and one of the characters didn't even know it was possible for that to happen. Oops. Someone forgot to give him the memo because male pregnancy was so normal for other people around the now pregnant man.

The fic is well tagged. Mpreg, unplanned...etc. and the summary makes it obvious that the story starts because of this premise above. BUT, I never said the tags meant there is only going to be one pregnancy in the series! I hoped the next guy who started showing signs didn't make them go "AH pregnant!" right away but later the foreshadowing would be so obvious.

Now the three part series has had 4 pregnancies. One from a M/F pairing, three from M/M pairings. Hey, the tags are there, I'm going to use them! Two of them were planned. Two were unplanned.
