ASRock has begun to release new BIOSes for their AMD AM4 motherboards. This BIOS contains AGESA ComboAM4v2 1.2.0.12 which mitigates security vulnerabilities.
1. Update CPU microcode to C0662 / 000001212
2. Update Intel ME firmware to 19.0.5.21753
3. Optimize system compatibility

We have an updated set of data from the ASRock CPU Failure survey. The data are through December 31st, 2025. Please take a look and make your own conclusions.
This will be the final megathread regarding this issue. We will continue to update this thread as needed if new investigations arise or if we receive additional relevant information.
Please note that this post will be automatically archived in six months, as we have this option enabled to prevent spam or the resurrection of old posts on the subreddit. 2) My CPU was replaced. Should I reuse the motherboard?
Answer:
That decision is entirely up to you.
If you no longer trust the board, consider selling it or requesting an exchange from your retailer.
If you decide to reuse it, update the BIOS to the latest available versionbefore installing the replacement CPU.
Use BIOS Flashback for the update.
As of 12/23/2025, the latest versions are 3.50 or 4.03, depending on your board.

3) I use a 7000-series CPU, do I need to be worried?

We observed that the issue effects 9000-series CPUs. Yes, there were some reports of dead 7000-series CPUS, but these are well within a normal defect rate.
Hi everyone. I have this new MB for a build to pair it with a ryzen 7 7700 and will upgrade to a newer cpu in Future.Since all bad news is coming up about asrock mbs killing ryzen cpu's should i consider it replacing with b850m gigabyte gaming x wife or msi b850 tomahawk max wifi. I got a person who will buy the b850m steel legend from me and if i sell it i will get either of these two Motherboards. With really high hopes i bought the steel legend and was really happy about it then saw all the bad news regarding asrock motherboard killing cpu's and somewhere somewhat even ryzen x3d chips are to be blamed too i think but unfortunately death of these cpus is occurring more on asrock motherboards. Would like your opinion on this please as we all are part of pc building community.
I don't know if the motherboard killed the CPU or if the motherboard just died or if they both got taken out.
I was just sitting here with the PC on and was watching YouTube. Then the display went off and I looked at the PC and it had a red light for CPU and I noticed the GPU (a zotac 5080) light flashes red as well. Fans stayed on.
I tried restarting it and it won't post or display anything. The GPU flashes red straight away and the red light for CPU issues lights up instantly. The fans still turn on and the ram lights up after about 5 seconds. I've tried taking the ram out and using a single stick of ram in different slots with no luck.
At this point I'm pretty certain it's either the cou is dead, the motherboard is now faulty and won't post or a combination of the two.
With all of the issues with ASRock boards and 9800x3d's dying I'm unsure whether I need to go to ASRock or AMD ? Do I get the CPU replaced first or the motherboard or both? I really don't know the exact process. Any information on how to proceed would be appreciated. Thanks.
I am in the process of changing my home server to a different mb for dual GPU purposes. Currently i have the Asrock X1316 and not sure what to do with it when I change. If I were to sell it how much would it be worth? Thanks in advance for your responses.
I just built my first pc and got the bios set up but now when I turn it on after a bit it gets stuck on the logo with a white led then when i power it off then on again it works like normal. when i look up the symptoms i was told to turn off fast start up but i don't know how to do that nor what it does and if it would fix it.

Hi all, posting here in the hope for some assistance.
My PC worked fine yesterday however out of nowhere it will no longer boot/display anything on a monitor.
The motherboard is a ASRock B650 lightning where I'm running an approx 1.5 year old 9800x3d.
On boot the post status checker LED will cycle through the other indicators before staying lit on 'boot'.
I have tried resetting the CMOS, attempting to boot using integrated graphics both with and without the GPU inserted. I have reseated the CPU, M2 SSD, RAM and GPU and tried booting with different combinations of these however the same problem persists and the boot light stays lit during each attempt. I have also updated the BIOS to the most recent update via flashback which unfortunately didn't help either.
I'm at a loss and not sure what I should try next or if there is a way to understand where the problem lies before I start trying to replace parts.
If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated
Hey everyone, I need some help troubleshooting a PCIe lane issue on my setup.
My ASRock B660M PG Riptide with an i3 12100F only runs the primary PCIe slot at x8 instead of x16. I tested two separate cards: an RX 9070 GRE runs at PCIe 4.0 x8, and a GTX 1050 Ti runs at PCIe 3.0 x8 in the same slot.
In Linux, lspci confirms the CPU root port link negotiates at x8, while the GPU internal switch reports full x16 capability. Lanes 0 to 7 report zero errors and clean margins.
I have already reset the BIOS, forced Gen3/Gen4 speeds, reseated and cleaned the card edge, and removed all NVMe SSDs (the CPU M.2 slot still works at x4 fine). Link retraining in the OS always comes back as x8.
The catch is that when I first got this motherboard, it had a few bent LGA1700 pins that I straightened with a needle. The system has been stable, but I suspect one of the PEG signal pins for lanes 8 to 15 might have poor contact.
Has anyone seen uneven cooler pressure or bent socket pins cause this exact behavior? Would an LGA1700 contact frame help, or is this likely a dead pin or trace?
Hi, does your MediaTek BT on AM5 motherboards support LE Audio? I've tried several drivers and have the latest W11 updates, but unfortunately, the option doesn't appear in the Devices panel. Specifically, I have a MediaTek MT7922 and an Asrock B650I Lightning WIFI.
Hi, i have an a320m-hd and needed 5o update my bios, ive downloaded and indtalled the 7.0 bridge, it worked, when i successfully downloaded and installed 10.50 and it restarted, it frooze on the mobo logo screen. I cant del to access bios, or f11 to pick a bootable drive.
and tested without my drives too, it freezes right when mobo logo screen appears with no feedback from keyboard.
right now im perfoming a cmos reset, can someone please share tips/opinions? really need the help.
Hello all, my partner recently got a custom built pc that runs absolutely terrible. It was put together with fairly good parts but takes minutes to even start up and run. Its running off of Windows 11 with a B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac system model, AMD Ryzen 3 3200G Processor. We've troubleshoot pretty much everything we can find and it won't run on wifi for more than a couple minutes without disconnecting, even with near perfect connection. It has to be hooked to an ethernet cable to run anything. There is nothing on the pc that should be slowing it down, as its an almost completely blank slate. It seemed to be running fine before an ethernet cable was hooked to it (without permission). Any help is greatly appreciated!
Have the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D combined with the asrock b850 rs pro wifi board.
First cpu died 3months. Next replacement cpu died 12months later(replacement cpu was new in box), bios was updated to the bios which was ment to stop this from happening.
Now have had 2 dead AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D within 1 year and a half. Should i replace this asrock board.
I'm currently having issues with TPM Attestation in order to use Faceit Anti-cheat for CS2.
I have a X570 Phantom Gaming 4 and a Ryzen 5 5600x on Windows 11.
Updated my BIOS to the latest version (5.80) and TPM is not working anymore. Everything is supposedly set correctly as Secure boot is enabled and AMD fTPM switch is set to AMD CPU fTPM.
Has anyone came across this problem already or have an idea of what i need to do ?

I have an asus motherboard b350 plus with a flashing on board light and no signal to my monitor, i was in the process of installing bazzite and had to leave it alone for about a week and suddenly there was mo signal to anything and it keeps shutting off on its own and i would really appreciate some help
Yesterday I spent half the day building my new SFF PC: Ryzen 7800x3d, Zotac 5070ti, 32gb of Corsair DDR5-6000, a Samsung 990 Pro 2T, a Corsair SF850 and an infamous B850 (i version for SFF).
The thing worked perfectly for like 20mn, I could install most drivers, get windows going and suddenly the whole thing crashed and totally shut off.
Since then I couldn’t get any signal when turning it on.
Everything seems to run fine inside the case (Fractal Terra), but nothing happens on screen: a black screen for like 1mn and then no signal.
I learned it might certainly be the POST never triggering, but after many (many) tests I couldn’t find why:
- I tried swapping the RAM, sometimes with A only, sometimes with B only (unmounting the ventirad every time was the funniest part, SFF indeed)
- I tried unplugging the GPU, every other device, still nothing
- I also did a clear cmos (even though the screwdriver technique + no led as feedback wasn’t really clear to me)
- And I tried to BIOS flashback, which worked, but didn’t change the no-POST issue
I don’t really know what I could try now except to send the mobo and the CPU back to Amazon, thankfully I’m still in the re-send period.
Do you have any idea, except for the mysterious AStock killing Ryzens, that could explain what happened to me? And maybe solve it, even though that part might be a bit delusional!
First of all, I know this has been posted and discussed many times but I feel like the last discussions regarding ASRock and 7800x3D are pretty old by now. I also just want feedback aimed at me so pls don't tell me to just look at the other posts, I have done that.
I bit the bullet and bought an ASRock B850M Pro-A Wifi after someone mentioned the 9000 series burning to me, I saw some posts saying it was mainly 9000 series and I thought it should be fine since I was getting a 7000 series x3D. I live in a country where I don't have a lot of motherboard options and the retailer selling the ASRock is the retailer I trust the most for repairs and service and they also had the cheapest price for 7800x3D.
Now I'm home and decided to dive a bit deeper into the rabbithole before starting my assembly and it has made me a bit paranoid. I'm wondering if I should return the board and CPU and get a refund a buy somewhere else. The issue is I would be buying from other retailers that have not as great of a service AND I saw some posts about ASUS board frying the CPU's also. I also wanted to get the CPU and motherboard from the same retailer so if something happened to them I could take them to the same place and they would swap it out no matter which of them was faulty.
I only have 3 other motherboard options to choose from and they are like $20-30$ more expensive but those retailers also have the 7800x3D priced around $30 more, and I think I would like to get both parts from the same place. The options are these
Gigabyte B850M Force Wi-Fi v2 - Looks good on paper, reason why I didn't get initially is I was going for all black, but I can barely see it through my Lian Li B4 anyway so idk.
Asus PRIME B850M-A WiFi - Similarly specced and same price, was thinking of getting it only didn't because I saw that some ASUS boards also have problems.
Gigabyte B850M DS3H - Could get this also and it fits my look more but no WiFi. I always use wired but wanted to have it just in case and for bluetooth.
I am just looking for some feedback on what to do. Should I just go ahead and assemble, hope for the best and just claim warranty if needed?
Or would you take it back and return it for a refund and buy both parts from another retailer for a bit more and have peace of mind?
Well it finally happened to me (I think). Yesterday my PC froze, with the desktop image still and unresponsive. I bought the cpu in Jan 2025 and the motherboard in Feb 2025, and built the PC in Feb 2025. I have updated the bios a few times but I didn't keep a record of it. The latest update was in June to bios 4.21. Holding the power button down didn't turn my PC off, I had to remove the plug from the PSU.
(I normally use display-port of my GPU to display port of my monitor but usb-c port of my motherboard to my monitor's display port has worked in the past.)
remove GPU and connect motherboard usb-c port to my monitor display port. worked previously but does not work now
remove GPU and connect motherboard HDMI port to monitor HDMI port. worked previously but does not work now
confirm my monitor can work from the display port and HDMI signal of another laptop (works now)
tried to connect another monitor by HDMI (does not work with my PC. Does work with another laptop).
using only 1 stick of ram (I have 2x 16GB, and tried each stick in each slot)
updating the bios using the bios update button (I couldn't get this to work, the light flashes green a few times and then the fans turn on)
I guess I should try to RMA both the CPU and motherboard?
CPU: I live in Europe but bought the 9800x3d from Microcenter in USA in Jan 2025. I have a receipt and I think I have the box. AMD serial number check says I have a valid processor in box. Can I return it in Europe?
Motherboard: I bought the motherboard online from MindFactory (Germany) in Feb 2025 and have an email receipt and box. From what I understand I must process a return through MindFactory but I should prove there is a defect. Are there any hints to get this RMA approved?
