Hi all! I am planning on growing mushrooms in my garden and I would need freshly cut oak and beech wood logs. They need to be cut in the last 1-2 weeks so they are fresh for the mushrooms I would like to grow.

Does anyone know where I can find logs? They need to be about 15-20 cm in diameter and about 90-120 cm in length.

Wasn't feeling great in town yesterday but had someone trying to pester me yesterday morning in front of the St Nicholas centre, white guy, older with glasses, working with a larger black chap, trying to fob off bracelets. Has to tell him twice I wasn't interested (even the usual chuggers and mormons would have taken the hint), but I'm sure someone had said this was a scam, where they offer these bracelets off for mental health then ask for a "donation".

Anyone know anything about this? I refuse to give to charity muggers on principle, but he came across as a scammer. At least he wasn't trying to fob off "lucky heather".

Does anyone know how to actually contact Aberdeen North driving test centre? I’m losing my mind trying to get through to them.

I need to urgently check if I can use my 2015 BMW 220d Convertible for my test (I don’t have any other option but to use that car), but every number I’ve found either doesn’t work or is just the bad weather line. DVSA says to contact the test centre, but there seems to be literally no way to do that.

Has anyone managed to speak to them directly, or do I seriously need to drive there in person just to ask?

Hi all, looking for ideas of somewhere to take my Mum for her 70th birthday we are coming to Aberdeen for a couple of days in Nov. Has anyone else in Aberdeen noticed their tap water tasting a bit strange recently? Mine doesn’t taste particularly “fresh” at the moment. It’s not a strong or horrible taste, just noticeably different from usual.

I tinker/repair broken consoles in my spare time as a hobby and wasn't sure if there'd be a place in Aberdeen to get them from folk directly, rather than just relying on eBay.

I’ve heard Aberdeen has some beautiful countryside and hills/mountains nearby. Just wondering:

1. How accessible are the hill areas around Aberdeen if I want to visit by bike? Are there decent cycle routes or paths that lead out to scenic spots, or is it mostly car-dependent?
2. Any recommendations for scenic places that are good for a weekend visit, idealy reachable by bike or public transport + bike?

Open to any tips for a newcomer who doesn’t have a car yet (and doesn’t know how to drive :( . Appreciate any suggestions!
