Lethal Weapon is a 1987 American action thriller film directed by Richard Donner and written by Shane Black.

Starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, the film follows two mismatched LAPD detectives—Martin Riggs (Gibson), a volatile former Special Forces soldier struggling with suicidal impulses after his wife's death, and Roger Murtaugh (Glover), a seasoned homicide sergeant and devoted family man—who are partnered to investigate a young woman's apparent suicide during the Christmas season.

The supporting cast includes Gary Busey, Tom Atkins, Darlene Love, and Mitchell Ryan.

Conceived by then-unknown screenwriter Shane Black as a contemporary urban Western exploring trauma, masculinity, and moral decay in Los Angeles, the film underwent extensive development under producer Joel Silver and was shaped by Donner's emphasis on character dynamics and gallows humour.

Black's script, among the highest-selling speculative scripts of the 1980s, helped redefine the buddy cop genre.

Mad Max (1979) The original classic with Mel as Max. This movie was the root of one of the best action franchises in history IMO. First time I saw it was with the original release of The Road Warrior at the drive in, My Dad took me when I was 10. Been a fan ever since.

It is a sequel to the 1987 film Lethal Weapon and the second installment in the Lethal Weapon film series.

Decided randomly to start posting my favourite action movies. In Steelbook form.

Starting with John Wick, partly because I love this movie, and I have the photos on hand from a recent Instagram post.

Anyway. Why do I love this? Honestly, it's just awesome. This is what happens when you take a bunch of stuntmen and let them make an action movie.

My only real issue with this movie is that it raised the bar too high. Made me judge other action movies against this. Any time something goes back to hyper fast edits, it just looks bad now.

Anyway, I plan to start posting a bunch of my favourite action movies, only ones I have high end physical releases for. In no particular order.

**One More Shot** was so damn good. If you've not seen it, I highly recommend it. It's like Die Hard in an airport (yes yes, I know Die Hard already did that in the second part).

It had Michael Jai White in it, and seeing Adkins and Michael go against each other is always a treat.

The first film, **One Shot** was right about average. It had Adkins along with Ryan Phillippe and had the one take gimmick. The action was impressive, but the overall movie wasn't as gripping as the second one.

I am not impressed with the trailer for this one though, but I am always game for a Scott Adkins movie.

It was cool watching a movie with no dialogue at all (but it did get a little weird at some spots - just felt like "Dude, say something!") over all it was ok, this scene was awesome though.
