That button does literally nothing.

Reddit fucking sucks now. Every third post is an ad that opens a browser window, half my previously curated feed is recommendations for shit subs like alignment charts, bots everywhere. Just pure shit.

On iOS I use old. reddit site in safari with the Yesterday for Old Reddit app installed. I have none of those programs or the problems they have, and have basically the same experience as using the .compact site from a decade ago. No ads, and I only see subscribed subreddits.

You may have just saved Reddit for me. Thanks!

Could I ask what does Yesterday for Old Reddit do? Presently I just visit old.reddit on safari.

It has userscript to make the old reddit site look and function exactly like the .compact site functioned before it was removed. Essentially turns reddit into a bulletin board.

I use old reddit desktop through chrome on my android phone. Works great 😅

I use a rotating cast of redlib instances and go to old reddit to comment when I want to.

Glad I muted that channel before they took the mute button away.

I wish I had. Keep hitting show fewer, but they keep coming. There’s got to be money for spaz there somewhere

Wtf they took the mute button away, and this is how I'm finding out??

No I can still mute things

It was fun at first but now they’re just getting repetitive

Lately I just receive in my feed "people pictures" subs about how they look, their hair, their style and many other that stink insecurity. I'm just asking "show fewer of them" but they grow like mushrooms.

I hate them, but I’m actually getting less and less of that crap.

Never heard of that sub.

Just block the individual accounts from shitty subs that keep getting promoted to your feed. Eventually you block the major bot posting account on those subs and you dont see it anymore.

They don’t post under the same user.

That button used to mute the sub. Now you actually have to go to the front page of the offending sub in order to mute it.

Do people still not turn off recommended posts? I only see subs I subscribe to in my feed. It's bonkers that people complain about this but don't just go to the settings and uncheck a box.

I keep getting subreddits that advertise shitty temu products sold on amazon. No amount of rejection makes them go away.

It's all training data. that's the sad part.

Same with the "block ad" option on youtube. Block then get the same ad for 8 consecutive ad breaks.

Weird, I never had a problem with that buttons. Always work !

The algorithm is required to show you something. If the only content available is stuff you've told it you don't want to see, it's still going to show it to you. It has no other choice.
