A scientific study compared learning while actively navigating to learning while being stationary, finding that participants who physically walked through space showed enhanced memory. The findings have implications not just for learning but also for interventions in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.  See: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-57668-w

I do all my best thinking while walking. A day without a walk isn't a good day.

In the summer it is more swimming for me than walking. Easier on my hip and back. But in later October, I switch to walking until the end of March when I open up the pool.

Regardless of the time of year, I always tend to park way out in the parking lots for a little more exercise and I certainly don't stop activities that require walking in the summer.
