Recommendation needed

I just moved to Allen TX. I purchased a Mr. Cool DIY system for my garage because I had someone tell me they would install it for me. Apparently they decided they didn't want to get paid and now I'm having a hard time finding someone to install it for me. Any recommendations for good, reliable, independent handymen, electrician or HVAC person that would be willing to do the install? I appreciate any help you may provide

I arrive at Dallas Love Airport on a Friday around 9pm, go to The Village area in Allen, then head back to Dallas Love by 12pm on a Wednesday. I plan to mostly stay in the Hotel, and I see shops & restaurants are walking distance, so I may not need to rent a car for all the days I'm there.

How is the traffic around the days & times I've listed above?

I see the 75 may be the best route?

I see they have DART in Plano. I may take that from airport then Uber/Lyft to Allen and back instead of Uber/Lyfting all the way. We'll see.

I'm still researching but let me know, if you have suggestions, anything I need to know about DART or anything.

I think I'm leaning towards just getting a rental car. But if you travel from Love to Allen and back without a rental car, please share your experiences and tips.

A little context on myself, I'm a first generation college student and i'm attending collin college. I looking into getting my AAS in respiratory therapy and I'm currently taking a break and will being going back in the spring. I'm currently looking for a job at the moment, and I've been looking on applying for entry level role in health care but have been having a hard time getting call backs and interviews, I do have some health care experience as a pharmacy technician and as well, I have my phlebotomy certification. I wanted to reach out and ask if anyone is currently looking for office/desk/ receptionists and if any places are currently hiring entry level health care positions. Thank you

The Court will hold a public hearing on the FY2027 budget, and will adopt it in some form on September 14. If you have commentary, you can speak at this meeting or on the 14th, but as I’ve noted previously, realistically speaking, no changes get made the date of the final vote on a budget. There will also be a public hearing on creating the Cobble Creek Public Improvement District (PID) on 108 acres in east Collin County, with an estimated $12 million in developer-funded improvements. The agenda for the 90th Texas Legislative Session will also be discussed and includes a new request for county authority to regulate noise in unincorporated areas. I SAID, A NEW REQUEST FOR COUNTY AUTHORITY TO REGULATE NOISE! Notable consent spending totals $4,256,760.55, and separately, the county is receiving $4.02 million from selling land to TxDOT for US 380.

Kind of random, but does anyone have any recommendations for skateboarding lessons in Allen?

I have a side entry door to my garage and over time this 4 ft x 4 ft x 6 in concrete stoop has moved about 8 inches laterally and 3 inches out/away from door threshold. It's a nice piece of work and I'd really rather have it moved back into place rather than just have it demo'd and repoured.

So hoping to locate a person or company with experience to push, pull, or lift it back into its original place. If that's you or someone you know, please let me know...feel free to DM me if you want.

This is just a pointless rant, probably.

I dropped off my daughter at tonight's game, and the traffic situation was tolerable. I was at least able to drop her off near the stadium. Pick-up was another thing entirely.

The only time I have ever seen traffic this bad is after a concert at Cowboy Stadium. And it seems the traffic control was making it worse, not better. It looked like access to the stadium itself was completely cut off. Inbound traffic (like me and others picking up their kids) was diverted away from the stadium and into the PAC / high school parking area. We were all stuck going nowhere, a complete standstill. My daughter and her friends ended up walking and finding me, and somehow I managed to turn around and (very slowly) escape.

You might think that after so many years, the police, etc., would have figured out a better way to conduct traffic into and out of the stadium, but I guess not.

Rant over, I guess.

The only item on the general discussion agenda today is the FY 2027 Budget, which is really the tail end of last week’s budget workshops. See last Monday’s preview for more. What matters now is the public hearings on both the proposed budget and the tax rate scheduled for September 14. That’s the same day the Court adopts both, and it’s also close to the deadline for the court to pass the budget for the next fiscal year, starting October 1st. By all means, some and make your voice heard at the public hearing, but realistically, nothing significant will change at that late stage of the game.The Fire Marshal is asking the Court to adopt a 90-day burn ban for the unincorporated county (outside city limits). His memo puts our drought index at 611 out of 800 and climbing eight points a day, with no rain in the forecast. So you pyros, stow your Zippos.

On the tech side, there’s a no-cost agreement to be an early adopter on electronic warrant exchanges. Cyber-warrants. Cool.

In executive session, the Court will discuss the Collin County Adventure Camp. It’s in executive session so I don’t know what’s going to be said since I’m not a Commissioner yet (I will be after the election with your help!). Then after I’m a Commissioner, I still can’t tell you what’s said because it’s in executive session. So there’s that.

I am interested in attending the Duncanville @ Allen game this upcoming Friday. I see there are reserved tickets for $14 while general admission is $8. Is it worth it to pay the extra to reserve a seat? Or should I just get the general admissions, and is there seating for general admissions?

EDIT: also, what time to get to the game? Is there any pre-game activities?
