I couldn’t get a good pic of the 2 together or of other one on its own but it seemed stockier and fuller yet this one seemed more tall and lankier. Are they both YC or is one possibly BC? The gate behind is for scale. It’s about 4 and half foot tall gate. This one has been hanging around right outside my apartment for like 3 days now. I’m new to birding so forgive my lack of knowledge and verbiage

This guy stayed there for 10 minutes of photos and I swear he barely moved from this position

It’s definitely a night heron!

Almost a Black-crowned Night Heron but not really. This guy appeared around the bend in the river near while we were bird watching in Costa Rica this spring. Just hangin' out waiting for us paparazzi. Notably these are not the same genus as black or yellow night herons.

I can across this awesome bird this morning. I love how they sing so still for so long.

Dude was just chilling. Didn't move at all the whole hour I was there.
