Select/highlight blocked.
Has anyone noticed that some web pages don't allow you to select/highlight specific information? I frequently highlight specific information on a page, copy it, then look it up on another page or post it into a note for later. Especially when it's a web link that isn't active.
Is there any way around this?
It's as annoying as the "no screen shots allowed" rule!
Same issue with Google Messages - you have to copy the whole message. Why can't you just select a portion of it?!

In the newest version of Google messages you can select specific text to copy—long press the message you want to copy from, then long press on it again to select the text you want.
For copying from other places that don't like it, I suggest using Circle to Search. Just hold the home button/gesture handle and you can copy whatever you want.

On a Pixel, swipe up to get up the overview screen, then tap select from there.

Some website designers think that if they do tricks like this, it will prevent copyright violation. It does nothing of the sort, of course, while merely irritating their readers.
I don't know which version of Android you use, but on mine, I go to the app overview, which lets me select and copy text from the screen.
