Youtube removed reporting animal abuse. That's so wrong but of all the options what options is the most likely way to get a channel flagged and taken down? There is a channel of a couple doing incredibly gross/sexually suggestive things to a camel of all things. Is there a way to report based on the content so that it's properly flagged?

A cat I regularly feed, who comes to my house, badly injured a pigeon.

I saw it as I was leaving my house, and when I saw the blood, I decided to clean it up. The poor bird was very badly injured (I know it's not the bird's or the cat's fault, but I didn't want it to suffer any more). Its wing is mangled, and it has very deep wounds around its neck. Unfortunately, I can't take it to the vet; I don't have the money or the means to do so. Rather than let another stray animal continue to harm it, I picked it up and put it in a covered box in the yard so it could die there in peace. I don't know if I did the right thing. I also don't know how to euthanize it properly to end its suffering.

I don't know if I did the right thing; it's been about four hours, and it's still alive and losing blood.

Normally we are too busy for swarms and would encourage our clients to let them fly off on their own. BUT, we are glad we relocated this swarm because they were SPICY! We weren't surprised this swarm was spicy because this was only a couple miles from the SPICIEST swarm we've ever come across about 15 years ago. There's something about this part of town! Our beekeeper friends will re-queen this swarm which will eventually mellow out their defensiveness.

Ive always loved animals since i was a toddler. I grew up raising lizards, back when I was 10-17 i always liked birds, cats, turtles, frogs, fish, rabbits, and so on. But I was never really fond of dogs, I guess its because they always get up in your business. And i remember being chased by some at the age of 4, I guess thats why im not a fan.

I’m trying to help Animal Helpline Shelter, a 7-year-old NGO in Siliguri run by Priya, which rescues and cares for stray, injured and abandoned animals.
Their current shelter is inside a temple, but the rent is now expected to be around ₹30,000–₹35,000/month, which is not sustainable for the NGO.

They urgently need land to shift the shelter.
If anyone can donate land or lease it to the NGO for 5–10 years (or longer), it could make a huge difference. The NGO has funds to build and set up the shelter, but does not have enough resources to purchase land.

Even an affordable long-term lease, temporary land, or a lead to someone who may be willing to help would be incredibly valuable.

Hello, I’m thinking of getting a smaller pet and want to know if anyone has recommendations, because I’m having a hard time balancing if I’d be a good fit for that animal and vice versa.

I’ve only owned hamsters (and household cats) up until now and want to branch out a bit.

I’ve looked into hedgehogs and thanks to the help of some people I’ve realized that owning a hedgehog is not a good fit for me right now. Also sadly mice and rats are off the table due to a family member having a fear of them (however I would still love to have a mice / rats, so if you have any insight on owning rats and mice I’d still love the input!!)

Some things that I’m looking for out of a pet is:
- Being able to build a bond
- Being able to handle them, and them liking being handled
- And not overly loud (I have sensitive ears)
- (This isn’t a dealbreaker) Preferably not nocturnal, so we can bond durning the day and I won’t have to interrupt their rest to clean etc.

Some important things to consider before I get an animal is that I am still in school, I am looking into getting a job soon, I live in Canada (the part of Canada where it’s freezing 10 out of the 12 months, and the 2 months where it’s not freezing it’s either raining or 20+ C), in my home we have 4 cats, and the animal will be staying in my bedroom (which has electronics and I know some animals can be sensitive to them.)

The reason I am looking for a smaller animal is because I like the idea of them having their own space, me having my own space, and being able to share a space when we want.

I’m really fine with any animal. Reptiles (maybe not snakes, but again I’m willing to look into it if you have good input), rodents, birds, anything!

Also any cage recommendations are VERY appreciated, I own a hamster cage (the one in the photos) that I’ve been told can be used for mice or if I remove the 2nd layer it can be suitable for hamsters.

One day during my junior year, in my choir class, our professor's husky barked a couple times while we were laughing with him, and I noticed his ears going down. It made me wonder if a dog's ears always went down when they barked. When I asked my professor, he said that's what generally happens, but if their ears are poiting up/forward when they bark, that means they're angry.

How accurate would you say this is? It sounds right, but I'm down to hear your thoughts. I've seen plenty of dogs in my life but have yet to own one, and learning more about them (as well as animals in general for that matter) is half the joy.

Showcasing a method of rehousing I’ve been utilizing for years, but not seen taught anywhere

I was riding a scooter in rural Hokkaido (northern Japan) and met this fox on the road. I stopped in front of it and it didn't run away.

It didn't seem scared at all. I honked at it and it didn't flinch. It was looking around and glancing at me and slowly walking towards me.

I even screamed at it but it didn't really react. It kept walking towards me.

So I drove my bike around it without going on the opposite lane, it was just staring at me when I passed by. Like literally just staring at me.

Are foxes curious of humans? I don't really understand why it didn't run away / walked towards me even though I made large noises. I thought it'd at least make it startled lol. Was it curious or scared? But it was literally walking towards me so I wouldn't think that it was scared.

Also it's in the middle of a mountain in a really rural area of Hokkaido so I don't think that it's used to humans.

This was about a week ago. I just keep thinking about this encounter and what might've been going on in its head. It's probably not rabid because Japan is rabies-free.
