I remember watching The Venus Wars on the SciFi Channel as a kid and have had the DVD for ages. It's not anamorphic widescreen and just looks awful on an HDTV. Especially zoomed in. Found a copy of the OOP Blu-ray while thrifting and the difference is remarkable!

Felt left out so here's my collection so far cheap figures all under $80, and a few not so anime DVDs

On a post asking the opinion of the community if I should wait for a complete edition or buy now, I chose the latter. I did so because the state of physical media especially anime and well stated opinions of other collectors. When I got back into collecting recently, this was on my list. Very happy to own a bluray copy of it and can’t wait for Vol.2. If a complete/all in one version comes out I’ll probably buy that too. Thank you all who answered the original post.

My boxset of Chobits finally came in! I've been on the look out for this one for awhile at a reasonable price.

Now to wait on a few other preorders

Got one of my grails today in the mail. I have had the OVAs for years but have really wanted to see the main show, which I have always heard was much better.

I'm trying to get the rest of SAO and I'm looking at Fate Apocrypha as my next major things to add but I'll get others in the meantime.

Edit: Does anyone have some recommendations of other stuff to get that have an English dub?

I've heard really good things about this anime, and always wanted to watch it, and I saw it was in stock (Albeit Low Stock) on Sentai's store, so I managed to snag myself a copy! Should be here next week sometime!

I'm stoked to rewatch the series off the blu-ray 👐 Mayhaps once day we can get other viz rescuesss I'd love Hikaru no Go but with it still being available on streaming i suspect the license is still being held up, mayhap one day thooo I'd love to be rid of those 10 single vols esp and get the rest ofc 😆

Was anyone else's slip veryy tight on the bd case?? I pulled up a bit of the plastic cover already trying to shimmy the slip back on 🥲

Digimon Tamers - Season 3 is hereeee and tbh I stopped watching digimon after Adventure/02 but I've heard good things about season 3 sooo I thought it worth the blind buy hehe. I plan on picking up season 4 too >< Terriermon is my fav mon (thx to the digimon movie tho) so it's neat to see him partnered with a main cast member~

Hana Yori Dango - SD on BD so ig I didn't need to upgrade from the dvd set I got from the closeouts but I definitely appreciate the bd form and less discs hehe 👐 I'm glad to see they're still renewing shoujo stuffs given the discotek bread and butter tends towards the shounen/seinen demo ahah We got the consolidated release of RoV too!

I can’t believe I managed to get this collection box set for $50!! Box is a bit worn but I don’t really mind that. The dvd are pretty much new! With 12 and 9 being so expensive I feel like I hit the jackpot. What do you guys think ? Did I get a good deal ?

Hello everyone, with Sonys announcement to end physical media I flew into a bit of a frenzy buying physical games. My friend got me a blu ray player for my birthday and introduced me into the world of physical anime. I’ve since then started a physical anime collection. This is what I have added to my collection so far.

I feel a little bad because I borrowed Lu over the wall from a friend in elementary but they kinda forgot about it and eventually moved so I’ve had it for years feeling guilty about it

Just need Zenigata and the Two Lupins, which is coming out some time this year

Investing in a region-free Blu-Ray player was the best decision I could have made as a collector. It's saved me a ridiculous amount of money. If I had bought the US versions, that alone could have been 10x the price of a region-free Blu-Ray player and that's if I actually managed to find all of them, since some sets are obscenely rare and uber expensive. Fuck Aniplex honestly. I'll take value over fancy presentation any day. Also, sadly the X2 Blu-Rays do not include the OVAs so I'll be watching those through "other" means...

I recently imported Is the Order a Rabbit OVAs being Sing For You and Dear My Sister. I'm not sure if these are the first press limited editions for each or just the limited editions, cause they both have extras to them with first press ones usually having a little more to them, but either way these now completely knock out the bootleg set I had of this series prior.

Black Butler has been a favorite of mine for YEARS now! ❤️

I specifically want the box set dvd's here is vol 46-50 after i got volumes 36-40 already.

I learned i should start buying the last volumes first since less were printed. dvd cases are still sealed but im opening right now :)

After a careful search on eBay, I was able to find a copy that sells on a double digit price. I’ve heard good things about this anime, mainly because Carrie Savage is in the dub, so I purchased it and checked it out.

Ordered these last week and they came in today!

Excited to add these 3 to my collection.

Little by little growing my physical collection with some of my favorites!

Still waiting on some others I preordered and purchased in the last few weeks. My Chobits boxset should come in tomorrow 😁
