“The night approached. Wyverns scorched my javelin. Luckily, a waterfall was not too far away to cool off. Wolven howled that shook my bones to the core. The survival instinct of my body kicks in regardless of being inside this suit. To see a pack of Wolven and a Titan back to back is not an uncommon thing, but a sighting I appreciate nonetheless.”
I like this clip a fair bit! Being able to fly through the gate and see the wide open world, then to see a Titan running rampant for me to use my ultimate is great, AND getting to see a legendary drop is amazing every single time. The coloring and the way the drop radius circle engulfs the area with a coat of neon yellow-ish green is awesome. Thankful to have all these clips to revisit, and to share with you who enjoy reminiscing with me!
Hope you all have an amazing weekend. Strong alone, stronger together.

How did they fumble this? Just look at it!

Lack of direction, and too many cooks in the kitchen.

To many overheads wanting to control it for every last dime they could squeeze and ran it into the ground with oversight but what can you expect from EA yelling down at one of their subsidiary companies they acquired to make them another money grab instead of a game!

I remember playing it non stop for a month after launch, and was like "Well I love this but lets give it some time to cook and mature" I'm sad to see it never got the chance.

u/Life_Pepper_6495 4d ago
Felt that! I love that “cook and mature” line. You see the potential and everything but it’s not completely ready

The game was amazing for me, but like how Eljjo said in the comments as well, it could’ve been even more
And you’re welcome!

still sad i never got to play this.

u/Life_Pepper_6495 2d ago
Ah man, wish you had a chance! Was there anything you were looking forward to within the game?
2
u/MegaPrOJeCtX13 2d ago
honestly, all of it. i always thought booster boots combat was cool, whether it was just little jets to make someone kick faster or whole suits encasing a body in weapons. i was just starting to lose faith in destiny during the hype-to-release, and i figured i'd switch to this cause it looked so radical
1
u/Life_Pepper_6495 2d ago
It did feel pretty radical in comparison to other looter shooters, I played Destiny, Destiny 2 and Warframe; for me personally, Anthem blew them out of the water at its core fundamentals. If it got the support it was supposed to get, I could see it being a “greatest hits” in video games.

u/itz_Glo 1d ago
What were the core fundamentals? The loot sucked and wasn’t exciting. That’s a pretty fundamental thing in a looter shooter. The gunplay was mediocre. Story/campaign was not good. No PvP. The enemies were pretty forgettable. Build crafting was pretty sub par. The social hub was lacking. The best parts of the game was the flying mechanic and the gorgeous world. Besides that, it wasn’t that great.

Well, for me, I liked a lot of the things in the game! I liked the guns that were dropped, the abilities and super attacks, the random encounters with the enemies in the world, the weight behind the weapons and movement, the strongholds and puzzles that came with what it had, the bosses of the strongholds. The PvP wasn’t something that I didn’t really care for. The things in the world were fun for me and that is what my experience with the game was :)

Name a few guns you remember by name without looking at clips. They all looked the same as well. Also name a boss you remember in a stronghold. Only one I remember is the big spider. Don’t even remember the lore around it all or the name of her. Game was sooo undercooked. But that’s what happens when said game is scrapped that many tiles during development.

u/itz_Glo 18h ago
People STILL remember Pocket Infinity from D1, which was very early in the franchise, never brought back, and it’s still talked about till this day. THAT is a good looter shooter with memorable loot.

u/Life_Pepper_6495 17h ago
Dude, I understand your sentiment and that you don’t like the game very much or at all, but I enjoyed the game lol and that’s what we’re here for
1
u/itz_Glo 11h ago
I did like it. I liked many things about it. But there is a reason why it failed so badly. It was extremely hollow. It got gutted like 3 times During development, so it’s not surprising it got canceled. I had a blast during the beta and the first few days of release though. But it became pretty evident early on it had no real legs as a live service extraction looter shooter.

So much lost opportunity lost i would love to get a indie team together and make this a full blown roguelike without all of that crap for monetarization.
3
u/Life_Pepper_6495 4d ago
It would be fantastic if a team could pick it up just to keep the servers up and running, do some patchwork here and there. That would be a dream

u/felipepaiva 4d ago
Down for that, no old employee willing to leal some codebase to help us out? 😂😅

I honestly don’t understand what happened to this game. It was unique and would have sunk years in it like I did in Destiny franchise but… 😔
1
u/Life_Pepper_6495 2d ago
It was incredibly unique and felt like it stood on its own, and stood proudly. How many years you played Destiny? Did you move to the second installment?
2
u/tismo74 1d ago
I played the beta> destiny 1 with all its dlcs and moved to destiny 2 and all its dlcs. I don’t even wanna know how much money I spent during this past 12 years now but last year I lost interest and went back to rdr2.
1
u/Life_Pepper_6495 1d ago
I felt that, D1 I played a fair amount but before Anthem I was deep into Destiny 2 and felt like there was something missing for me even with all the great times I had in that world. RDR2 is amazing, I haven’t played it in forever, I might follow suit! Thanks for your opinions and outlooks!

u/itz_Glo 1d ago
It wasn’t that good. The flying mechanic was great and the world was gorgeous but that was it. The loot was awful, the story/campaign bad. Enemies were forgettable. Build crafting was mediocre. The endgame was pretty lackluster. The gameplay loop in general wasn’t that good. The best part of the game was just flying/running around the world doing those little missions. But it got old after doing that for a few hours.

u/archeojones 2d ago
Just an amazing game. The flying mechanics and landing mechanics were 100/10
1
u/Life_Pepper_6495 2d ago
The flying mechanics for something that was made on the fly is VERY impressive. The flying in the game without a doubt was one of the best gaming features ever

This game had a lot of potential, even when doing the playtest. They fumbled this game so hard.

u/Life_Pepper_6495 2d ago
The potential felt boundless! I remember playing the beta and how shook I was at everything in the game

u/BlaktimusPrime PLAYSTATION - 1d ago
Man, I would sometimes just login to just fly around because you just felt something.
1
u/Life_Pepper_6495 20h ago
I used to love flying around and trying to see if I could help someone with a mission! It felt good! It was a different feeling for sure!

Is the game back online or something? Last time i checked it was gone from my account
2
u/Life_Pepper_6495 1d ago
Nah it’s gone for everyone; these are just clips I have saved up before the game could be deleted. Every Friday I try to post something so people can reminisce and enjoy something that I also enjoyed.
There’s people working on a revival project for it. You can scroll down the posts and see more about it there if you’re interested.

I never really tried the other classes than the heavy one :/ your video made me want to try one of the more agile ones... But game is still gone... Nonsense
1
u/Life_Pepper_6495 1d ago
Awh! All the classes were so cool! One of the best features is that you can DISTINCTIVELY tell the weight of each javelin from the vibration of your controller! It was super immersive
