Tongue out Toast Tuesday (she was a love sponge).
We found Toast at a shelter in a different town. We hadn't gone there to get her.. she came to get my wife, once we entered the room she was in.
She insisted on being picked up, and then immediately embraced her around the neck and started purring.
She was tiny, and her coat was dull. She clearly wasn't thriving there, so we convinced our landlord to let us have another cat and adopted her.
For the five years we had her, she was the single most loving, mellow cat either of us has ever known. Toast never met a stranger because every person was a friend. Every visitor was sat upon, and her love tax was collected.
Her favorite person of all, though, was my wife, Mrs. Giligadi. Our winter nights were blissful with familiars in our laps to warm up the blankets. 2021 took them both, first Maia (my familiar) in late June then Toast in late September.
Same date, actually. She died suddenly, and shockingly (not violently, but i will spare the details unless you are curious. I'll always answer questions). It was heartbreaking.
We miss her dearly. Here she is on her cat tree, which she loved.
Long live the memory of Toast. She was a *really* good cat.
