cloud save isn’t working

i’m playing dredge on my ipad and iphone; a month or so ago everything was syncing fine between devices however i was out of town and playing more on my phone so there is a difference between the two devices (day 52 on my phone and 29 on my ipad) i’ve tried everything i can think of; signing out of game center, creating another file on my iphone, deleting and redownloading the app. but i don’t get a pop up on the ipad about a cloud save file. what am i missing? i am currently in the process of updating both devices to see if that helps
