do admission officers actually like the obviously trying to get your attention type of essay hooks? for most of the essays i see, i roll my eyes when i read the hook because its just so obviously trying to be a hook. i think its kind of overdone, i mean is the only option that people use the crazy or confusing first sentence hook. maybe its a step ahead the altogether boring essays but imo its not much better. some hooks can definitely be good tho just not the over dramatic type of im different hooks idk

no yeah, it kinda makes me cringe when people just try to make the opening line smt super confusing or weird and then it ends up being a metaphor or smt
