I only had goldfish when I was a kid, recently got into tropicals with my daughter. We bought a fully established tank with an 8yr old bristlenose.. unnamed!!

I bought from a fish store in Korea. He told me they were some kind of dwarf fish, but there’s a very big language barrier. Anyone have an idea, I’m not finding anything to tell me what they are. I just want to know care guidelines, and things like that.

I’m doing a co2 tank with full Monte Carlo carpet and a moss bonsai tree, I’m currently thinking of what to put in there. I’ve played with the idea of chili rasboras and neocardia, or kuli loaches with other things but want to explore ideas. Thanks for your help

I have a tank with just one male betta and one mystery snail in it. I found these little black eggs floating on one of the plants I have in the tank. They were at the surface of the water I’m sure they’re eggs because they felt really slimy and were all stuck together when I touched them. I know it’s really hard to tell but does anyone know what these eggs are?

Can anyone suggest what to do next?

I have added 2 pinches of anti chlorine in the water and turned on my filter and haven't added any fishes yet

What’s the best food for Chili Rasboras ?
I’ve read that feeding them baby brine shrimp, or Cyclops can help with making them even more red.

Hi everyone!

Now that I have had more experience and research on fish keeping, I really want to transition my freshwater tank from artificial to planted.

Currently, my 10gal is only home to my beautiful koi betta Mina.

I am trying to give her the best life ever which is also why I want to transition to planted and dull the colors out some as well.

Any advice? Would the easiest solution be to save up for a new tank and lay substrate down first? I have extra sand already. Or should I remove the sand enough to lay substrate? Or can the substrate go above the sand?

Any tips or thoughts or suggestions (as well as some starter plants for a beginner tank!) would be so helpful <3

I want to make our aquarium a bit nicer looking. We upgraded from a 6 gallon to this about 6 months ago and budget didn’t allow me to buy much for it. I’m thinking maybe a bigger driftwood? I do not want to pull the tank apart as we have an established shrimp colony and guppies. It needs to be things I can do with the existing fish and shrimp remaining in there.

My buddy and I bought Java moss from our local pet store but he ended up noticing a few day later that he had unexpected guess. He said he removed 5 of them then the next following day 10 more. Is there any issues with these snails?

My local tap water provider uses chloramine. I've searched low and high, and I haven't been able to find a test kit that would actually test for chloramine.

There seem to be plenty of tests for free chlorine which apparently wouldn't show chloramine presence only chlorine, so a total chlorine test would be needed. Is there really no such thing (total chlorine / chloramine test) for aquariums?

This is my betta tank it has been running for a couple months now, my betta seems very happy with it, but I can see bits of dirt and biofilms everywhere, especially on the leaves of plants, how might I clear this up?

Hey peeps I’m noticing a weird white fuzzy ish stuff in the corner of my established tank. I’m not noticing it anywhere else and it’s not just a standard biofilm that is on the sides. My tank is not cloudy otherwise just in the one corner. Any ideas on what it is?

I have went through a rough winter last year and lost a lot of fish because of a blackout, does anyone know how to keep the tanks warm during a winter blackout so I can be better equipped next time?

Only algae eater fish is added to the tank. No main fish yet.

Hi everyone! I’ve been fish-keeping for about a year and a half but over the last year or so I’ve been having a bad acidity and algae problem… my aquarium is far too acidic and I can’t figure out why. I don’t understand why but the algae has been changing in colors (from green to brown and vice versa) and it just keeps growing. I want my fish to have the happiest life possible and I know that with these conditions it’s not possible. Can someone please help me understand what is going on and how to fix it?

P.S. the picture attached is what the tank looks like directly after cleaning. It’s a 20 gallon tall tank holding 6 Cory’s, 1 Long Red-Ginned tetra, 1 Guppy, 1 Pleco, 1 Octo, 2 Neon Tetras, 5 baby Tetras (I’m not completely sure which ones, I believe they’re a mix of long red finned and black skirt), and 1 African Dwarf Frog. Please let me know if you need any additional information!

Inside it I have Kuhli loaches, a baby bristle nose pleco, baby red velvet swordtails, about 8 mystery snails (a few are babies), endless ramshorn, and some random spiral shell snail I found in my local river. They look like a type of egg, but I’m stumped as to what they could be from!!! Any help is appreciated!
