GM Extension Screen

I feel like I'm missing out on this feature, not really sure how to use it. Does anyone have any tips on how they use the GM screen? I assume it's for when you are making a map but I'm not really sure.

I write myself notes all over the maps on the DM screen for things I want to remember. Or anything else you want to keep hidden, like traps.
