This is who we should sign for the LW position
Quality player with proven Premier League experience. Would be a decent addition to the squad.

Bro has only played three competitive games for us and he did great in two of them. Way too early to rush to any conclusion. We gotta give him more time finding his footing and building chemistry with the lads.

The departure of Nwaneri/Martinelli/Jesus/Trossard in this window means:
A) Eze is practically our only realistic option for being the player that rotates and acts as backup in the LW position (or vice versa with Tzolis).
B) Odegaard no longer has cover because Eze will be doing that at LW as we start playing every 3 days again and Nwaneri is now gone.
C) In order to facilitate Eze's full disposal to the LW which is absolutely necessary, Dowman or Merino will have to step up and deliver as the 2nd CAM.
D) One other "solution" is that Arteta might put Madueke at LW, in which case God have mercy on our collective souls.

Early summer: Worked for months on Morgan Rogers. Mikel’s main target, after Kenan was not for sale. Got Morgan on board and knew we could do it for £85 - 100m but decided to play the field to spin plates. Waited too long, and now the Elliott A. deal dictates the new market price. Villa now want more than £115m
The club decide, after weeks of delaying, to finally engage in some talks with Villa, who tell us they want an amount close to the Elliott A. deal. While we delay, Alonso has spoken to Morgan, Behdad has spoken to Nassef, and they wrap up months of our work and delays in 36 hours. We were even offered the chance to match and refused.

Now he will be loyal, keep his mouth shut and protect the very same people. It's not fair. It's unaccaptable. Heads must roll.

Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri is traveling to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed deadline day loan move to Borussia Dortmund.
The attacking midfielder is set to join the Bundesliga club on a straight loan deal with no buy option, with all parties deciding this was the right opportunity for him to obtain more regular game time.
The Bundesliga side’s interest in the player pre-dates the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by new signing Giannis Konstantelias, who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Both Calafiori and White were stationed insanely high up the pitch today. Do you think this is some tactical test against weaker opposition, or our new tactical norm?

We are the champions and Champions league finalists who offloaded 4 strikers and brought one from the Belgian league. While our opponents (almost relegated - like Shit) bought multiple players over 120 mil. euros.
I know Arteta wants to be smart and rational, but man after that success last season you don't look if someone is 10 mil. more or not. I know that it's hard to improve the squad we have, but we are one injury or two away from disaster. We are Arsenal - it will happen eventually.
I believe we shouldn't sell Trossard or Martinelli at this point. Both of them were cheap signings and low gamble if they go for free at the end.
We are really running on the edge for potential 68 games season and we had the damn money to buy one or two top forwards. Def and mid are fine.
As I wrote in the title I really wish I'm so wrong, overreacting and stupid, but it really feels bad. Is it tho?
Sorry for my great English.

Just pulled a 1/1 Odegaard from the new Topps champions collection!!!

We swung and missed on some big targets and that’s okay, but I rather that than spending millions on options our board and manager aren’t exactly fond of.
All things considered, Bruno, konsa are very big purchases and important ones, that’s the kind of signings we should make, not panic buys and 3rd options

What happened to the club I love? Surely we could’ve offered $250M for Fernandes or a loan deal for Mudryk
r/ArsenalFC • u/TershyP8 • 7h ago
I know the club tried to sign high quality and ceiling raisers with the likes of Yildiz, Vini, Rogers and those just didn't work out.
But whats everyones thoughts on whether it would have been smarter (after realising those weren't working out) to sign high potential players on the rise like Antonio Nuse, Mika Godts (these players seem to be on a similar transition in their careers like when Olise went to Bayern or Doue to PSG and hit a higher performance level).
Its a bit frustrating that our be all and end all was certified ceiling raisers whilst ignoring investments in potential which seems like it will be the play anyways with a move for Kroupi type in Jan.

Looks like our transfer business is done for the summer. I know lots of you are pissed but we got rid of alot of the deadwood. Now the squad is manageable which is nice. I think we can push with this squad till January. I know we might not do business in Jan but trossard came in January but who knows. All in all i'm relaxed, hw about you guys

This guy hasnt played football in how long?!
Now someone explain to me that £55m for Martinelli is “a good sale”.
Someone please explain it to me. Whoever is in charge of sales at Chelsea is absolutely cooking - snatch them up! Will be the best signing we make for a long time!

First this sub screams to "back the manager" but when we do and are upset that by all accounts the manager hasn’t been backed these same people downvote you to oblivion and demean your talking points.
Objectively our main mission of strengthening the attack has failed to such an extent that we are now weaker in attack yet we have to pretend this didn’t happen?
Sure we are still favourites for the league but we had an opportunity to kill off the league before it began. We had an opportunity to be ruthless and stamp our mark in Europe by being strong on all fronts. Yet we delayed and delayed until now we are weaker (in attack) than before.
Can we win the league? Yes. Can we win the champs? Yes. But we could’ve been #1 in the world. The greatest.

Guys, what do you think—will there be a big surprise today? I’d really love to welcome Endrick. Who would you like to see on the team?

If HoA’s recent tweet is true, it’s very damning of the competency our board is at currently. All in all, it was a disappointing window. Maybe if we finished 6th it would be great. But we are reigning premier league champions and UCL finalists. Failing to sign one of the many ideal targets we had is simply unbecoming of teams of this caliber.
Do I think teams like City and Chelsea have made the right signings to close the gap? Yes. Do I think our transfer window was a failure because of what we allowed other teams to get without seriously beefing up ourselves? Yes.
Do I think we still win the league? Yes, but it won’t be as easy at it should’ve been. And I believe that’s the biggest issue and most frustrating part of the last few months.

We’ve won the title after years and played the UCL final for the second time in our club’s history. This was our season to cross the final hurdle and win it all, but we messed up badly in this transfer window.
I’m not saying we should overspend on every player available in the market, but it’s a seller’s market. Chasing a player for this long only to let them go to another team because you won’t overpay a lil for our main target is completely unacceptable.
The market is inflated you have to pay more to bring your desired player in.
I criticized Edu a lot for his strategies he’d drag negotiations out for months and end up paying whatever the selling club wanted.
On the other hand, Berta dragged negotiations out for months only to let our main target go because "he’s not in our budget" It’s just frustrating.
Let’s keep all that aside if you don’t want to sign someone and you think our squad is more than capable, fine. But why let go of both Trossard and Nelli in the same window? Fine, we got good money for Nelli, but we should’ve at least kept Trossard at the bare minimum.
And this Alvarez saga is just embarrassing. He wants another club? Cool, move on and focus on someone else there's no need to be that stubborn.
In attack, we have
Tzolis (who’s still not proven in this BS league where everyone wants to play rugby instead of football)
Eze as his backup (whose favored position isn’t even LW)
Havertz (sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe meh)
Gyokeres (who our manager clearly doesn't trust)
Saka (we all know he can’t play the entire season at that same level without burning out like last time)
Noni (just Noni)
Max (who’s literally just a kid)
And with this attack, we expect to achieve what we’ve never done in our club's history? I’m sorry, but I just don’t see it happening.
We’ve messed up this window massively. The season is way too long, we need depth in attack, and that’s the reality.
Look at what Citeh did they knew they needed players, so they bought them. Full stop, no nonsense. That’s who we’re actually competing against.
I’m just genuinely disappointed.
Goodluck to everyone this season.
