Hello there! I’m a curious young Yank looking into my family history. One of my ancestors claimed Bishop’s Stortford as his home before sailing west across the Atlantic to found Andover Massachusetts in the 1600s. From there his progeny spread eventually to my current home in the Rocky Mountains.
I’ve always been fascinated by the history of the United Kingdom, sadly I’ve never had the opportunity to explore your beautiful country.
What is Bishop’s Stortford like? Climate, geography, culinary contributions to the country, notable people, famous musical pieces, architecture, the works! I’d love to learn anything I can about it before I eventually come to visit. :D
Thank you all for taking the time to educate a sorry Yank from across the pond, and I look very forward to reading your responses.
ETA: I’ve perused the Wikipedia article on Bishop’s Stortford, where else should I look for further information? :)
