So ive recently seen a Post that was sth along the lines of "80% of Americans dont Like Trump. Vote democrats!" And i couldnt help but wonder how ignorant of the politic reality that is.

How can one expect to Vote Trump away, by replacing him with the same ppl whose politics directly influenced the rise of Fascism in America.

Where does the Hope come from, that this time everything will be different?

If the Dems get the trifecta in 2028 this could be the time to collapse the system and build it back with all their ideas and dreams.

Single payer government healthcare, free childcare, housing for all, livable guaranteed wages, defund the police, free college for all, pass federal abortion law, gender equal pay, ending financial support for Israel, tax the rich and corporations at least 80%, and more stuff.

The combination right now of the US debt, great poll numbers for Socialism, DSA, Democrat Muslims, Trump, gas and food prices, Gaza, racism, ICE murders, etc. could allow for the Cloward-Piven collapse the system & rebuild idea.

I’m at the point where I want the next Democratic administration to go just as hard in the opposite direction.
Look at what is happening with wind energy. Private companies invested billions of dollars building projects that were intended to diversify our energy supply, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and move us toward more sustainable domestic energy. And now this administration is willing to use government power and taxpayer money to stop or undo projects that are already underway.
Meanwhile, we’re being reminded once again, with what is happening with Iran and the Middle East, why reducing our exposure to global fossil fuel markets should be a national security priority as well as an environmental one.
So when Democrats get back into power, I don’t want another administration that spends four years cautiously trying to restore the status quo.
Go just as hard the other way.
If new coal or other high emission fossil fuel power plants were approved or built because this administration weakened environmental rules, immediately review every permit, regulation and federal approval involved. Use the EPA, DOE and every other federal authority available. Reinstate tougher emissions standards. End fossil fuel subsidies that aren’t justified. Accelerate renewable generation, transmission, storage and nuclear power. Make it economically and regulatorily harder to build new high emission generation and easier to build cleaner domestic energy.
And do it immediately. Not three years into the administration.
We’ve watched this administration demonstrate how much a president can accomplish simply by acting first and forcing opponents to challenge those actions in court. Democrats need to stop voluntarily limiting themselves while assuming the other side will respect norms that Democrats themselves are trying to preserve.
Use every inch of executive and regulatory authority available. Push right up to the legal boundaries and let the courts decide where those boundaries actually are.
And to be clear, I’m using energy policy as one example. I feel this way about every policy this administration has unjustly or unfairly dismantled. The next Democratic administration should move aggressively to restore those policies and, where possible, go even further. And it needs to happen faster than they were taken apart.
At this point, who cares if the other side gets pissed off? They certainly didn’t make protecting Democrats’ feelings or avoiding Democratic outrage a consideration when they were pushing through their agenda. Democrats should stop governing as if avoiding Republican anger is somehow a policy objective.
If Republicans can spend four years aggressively pushing the country toward their policies, Democrats should be prepared to spend the next four pushing twice as hard toward theirs.
I don’t want the next Democratic administration simply undoing Trump era policies.
I want them to learn from what happened and understand that political power doesn’t mean much if you’re constantly afraid to use it.

I'm not sure on how to elaborate other than to say it seems like a very difficult, no-win kind of question, but maybe there are people out there who know better than me.

She would certainly have more of a spine against Trump and MAGA than Hakeem Jeffries. Jeffries is more concerned about accepting corporate money and punching left.

I understand why the left is called the “Tolerant Left,“ and yet that seems to mainly be about what the identity of the person is and not what the actual contents of that person character are, especially if they are right-leaning. There have been times where someone has said things that are blatantly racist against white people, prompting me to to point that out by saying an equivalent thing, but changing the race, and then I’d get called racist, which makes it hard to lean left (for reference, I call myself independent purely because I think associating with political parties leads to dogmatism and sheepism on all sides).

I never see the left acknowledge this, hence my asking.

I notice this a cyclical thing. We had the witch-hunts in salem if you werent religious. Theyd falsely accuse you and kill you. Then there was the Red Scare. Everyone was obsessed with hyperfixating on the most trivial things about the other person to try and prove they were a communist.

To be honest, I feel that way about the current climate. This happens to both the average citizen and then people in the public eye, like celebrities. Why do a lot of democrats think that if you aren't similar enough to them that youre a republican? I feel like a lot of left-leaning people online lately hyperfixate on someone and everything they do to prove that person is a republican and throw shade. And 80% of the time its just false accusations. It feels like a weird obsession to justify not liking somebody

I personally am not a democrat. I am a centrist. But this has happened to me in real life. It feels so weird because theyre obsessed with telling me I am not what I say I am. But Im a centrist, always have been.

So there is an ongoing manhunt from Kash Patel's FBI for a young man named Jesus Acosta whom they allege killed MD Yousef and Tayvon Shuler in a grocery store. Every source I've seen has jumped to conclusions about his guilt. In reality:

- the footage doesn't clearly show that the gunman is actually Jesus Acosta and lots of people had beefs with both Yousef and Tayvon

- Jesus Acosta, despite being an American citizen, has been intimidated by ICE collaborators and secret ICE informants in NYC, so he has had reason to hide.

- Tons of other people had been intimidated by ICE collaborators and tons of people were angry about this intimidation by ICE

There are many other reasons to not jump to conclusions. I see sources that I used to value like News12 acting like MAGA propaganda now. I'm left with a despondent pessimism about the future of journalism in a struggle for human rights.

This is just a political experiment and I am once again not praising or glazing over any party here

A really prominent narrative right now is that voters want a "fighter." You hear this all the time now, about voters generally and democrats specifically.

My question is: what is a fighter? What do people mean when they use that term in different contexts? I'm asking because when I read popular commentators, or democrats/lefties online, they often give very fuzzy descriptions of a fighter is, or they just say something that basically mean "do whatever it is I want."

I'm especially interested in examining the concept of a fighter. On top of knowing just what people mean, I would love if people also explored deeper questions about fighters as a political concept. And there's a whole host of questions to could choose from here, for example:

1. When is the concept of a fighter good/useful vs bad/unhelpful? Is it coherent?

2. How specific and concrete vs abstract and fuzzy is it?

3.What are the tradoffs with what people want out of fighters?

1. What problems will the fighters encounterbif actually put into goverment.

2. Or something else.

Everyone is welcome, but looking for thoughtful answers that go deeper than just talking points.

Where is the Democrat party going with all this going into 2028? I check Drudge tonight this Piker, Ossoff, "American Jews", Israel, Gaza, Palestine, weapons funding, etc. is blowing up. What the deal?

Democrats, why don't you remind the other side of the aisle that "bro, you are literally a supporter of building a 400-600 million dollar ballroom". I was middle class in 2016 and middle class in 2017 and made roughly the same amount of money, which wasn’t much. Many people that made what I made, actually paid more taxes under Obama than under Trump. How does that make you feel? Does it make you question your party?

My view is that calling me a consumer limits me to being a cog in the capitalistic machine, a person who has no other purpose than to contribute to the DOW and GDP. Why can't Democrats drop that and simply refer to us as citizens?

The primaries are (mostly) over, it’s time to lock tf in, and we have Democratic members of Congress appearing on Fox News to fear monger about a guy who is VASTLY more popular with young people than they are.

Democrats smearing Hasan Piker and literal Democratic nominees who have campaigned with him are doing nothing but hurting the party’s chances at taking back Congress. Where is that classic vote blue no matter who energy???
