3rd kneecap dislocation, same knee each time. Likelihood of MPFL tear?
24, Male, 5’9 170lbs.
No medication, no smoking.
I’m in the uk so waiting times are long, just trying to get an idea of what’s going on. I don’t think it’s a chronic thing, the previous time was back in 2019, and the first time probably 2011, roughly. I would be surprised if the ligaments aren’t all kinds of messed up.
This happened on August 28th, I’m in a ROM brace currently but now my doctor has told me to take it off.
I really don’t feel comfortable doing that, having the support from the brace helps me remain at least a bit active. I understand it’s not keeping my kneecap in place but the fear of it happening again makes me want to just keep the brace on.
