I picture that scene from The Simpsons Family Guy where they are depicting what Irish society was like before they discovered whiskey.

11

u/spidereater 20h ago

I was thinking of the Simpsons episode where they imagined a world without lawyers.

3

u/ScienceJake 20h ago

Or maybe the one where it rained donuts…

4

u/ScaryBlanket_Reborn 20h ago

Family Guy innit?

2

u/cdnav8r 19h ago

Shoot, it was corrected

2

u/ScaryBlanket_Reborn 17h ago

Still a good comment, thank you for your contribution

3

u/rjactor24 20h ago

That was Family Guy but yeah I agree lol

1

u/cdnav8r 19h ago

Yep, corrected

1

u/SpeedBlitzX 20h ago

Wasn't that Family guy???

0

u/cdnav8r 19h ago

It was

44

u/patedugan 20h ago

1000% better. Not even an exaggeration.

7

u/Consistent_Low2080 20h ago

l think so too, Hillary would have been a great President. We got screwed with this moron.

5

u/Changoleo 19h ago

Even if she had been just another average president or even a relatively(as in pre-2016) bad one, that would’ve been great.

1

u/navaiIable 20h ago

Is that actually 1000% or the Trump Math way of doing percentages?

-10

u/dillzilla11 20h ago

It is a complete exaggeration.

6

u/SpeedBlitzX 20h ago

You're right it'd be 2000% better

-1

u/dillzilla11 20h ago

Yeah because the Democrats are just so much better. Totally not just 2 sides of the same corrupt coin.

3

u/Changoleo 19h ago

How’s Russia treating you?

0

u/dillzilla11 19h ago

This is getting so fucking old. Why is it hard to understand that someone can not like trump and also not like Democrats as well?

4

u/Changoleo 19h ago

Allow me to try to put this simply…

Not liking Trump nor Democrats is understandable.

Howfuckingever, tirelessly beating the “both parties are the same” dead horse after all we’ve seen pass in this country as a direct result of a GOP president running wild with no guardrails is what is so ludicrous that it makes you sound like you’re just trying to sow mistrust & misinformation.

1

u/dillzilla11 18h ago

They are the same. You just don't actually look at the details enough to see that. Texas and California for example are clearly on opposite sides of the political spectrum. Texas Internet safety bill gets rid of any sort of internet privacy from the state. California's new gun legislation also gets rid of internet privacy from the state. They both do almost exactly the same thing just with slightly different right/left leaning twist on it to get morons like you to keep supporting it when the bill actually does fuck all about internet safety or gun control. They are just government power grabs at citizen privacy with a title that appeases the majority of the people who are too ignorant to read beyond the title.

2

u/schlidel 19h ago

Always getting mistaken for a Russian troll? Interesting. What do you think the common denominator is?

0

u/dillzilla11 18h ago

When it's the left it's Russian and when it's the right it's Chinese bot. God forbid you actually approach any kind of criticism without assuming someone is a fucking troll or bot. This is exactly the reason why I hate both political parties. You people have the critical thinking skills of a damn toddler.

1

u/SpeedBlitzX 18h ago

Oh I don't like the dems either considering how they don't seem to care what the trump admin has done to other countries.

0

u/dillzilla11 18h ago

It's not anything different than what every politican has done in the last 30 years. Every election we are involved in a new war and every time the side who is in power tries their damnedest to justify it while the other side swears it would be so much different if only their side was the one with the gun.

1

u/SpeedBlitzX 18h ago

Let me guess. You don't vote at all then? But still complain?

0

u/dillzilla11 12h ago

I don't have any real options.

1

u/schlidel 19h ago

Look everyone! We got one of those both-siders!

1

u/dillzilla11 19h ago

I mean if what you mean by that is that both sides are absolute shit and corrupt to the core then sure.

25

u/top2percent 20h ago

Flying cars and everybody would be holding hands and singing songs together.

19

u/EfficientWorking1 20h ago

I’d still have abortion rights in my state.

-5

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 20h ago

How many abortions did you have prior to Trump?

5

u/J_Keefe 18h ago

Abortion rights are healthcare. One doesn't need to have or want an abortion themselves to understand their importance.

-40

u/Alert_Sleep_4454 20h ago

Tell your friends to keep their legs closed, or at least use protection

10

u/Eridain 20h ago

Nice of you to let everyone know you actually have no clue what you are talking about.

-13

u/Alert_Sleep_4454 20h ago

Truth hurts, cope.

3

u/Eridain 20h ago

Someone gets raped. Someone wants a kid, but complications happen where the baby wont live. Or the mother wont live. Or something happens where the mother needs to lose the pregnancy in order to survive. Or any other number of things that are why we had the roe v wade ruling in the first god damn place. You actually have no valid excuse to be this ignorant about this well discussed and documented issue. It only proves to everyone that you have the intellectual value of a grain of sand. Except the sand actually has other uses and value.

7

u/ParkerHollowhurst 20h ago

If women only open their legs they don’t get pregnant. Tell men to use protection or get vasectomies. Women on their own can’t get pregnant. Ask a lesbian for clarification.

-10

u/Alert_Sleep_4454 20h ago

That’s why I said, “use protection.” Read it a couple times if you have to

2

u/ParkerHollowhurst 19h ago

Them opening their legs has nothing to do with them getting pregnant. More has to happen…none of which is their fault.

0

u/Alert_Sleep_4454 19h ago

It takes two to tango bubba

Canada would still be an ally. The type of ally that, on 9/11, when American flights were forced to ground, Canadian towns like Gander took in tens of thousands of stranded travellers. When hotels hit capacity, Canadians went to the airports, picked up American strangers, and opened their own spare bedrooms and living rooms to them.

2

u/Sweatroo 20h ago

I like to think Canada is smart enough to know the average Americans love them all and relationships in trade and politics can go back to being BFFs on day 1 of literally any Democrat winning. It is really such a small group of old, out of touch men ruining our country.

1

u/slow_marathon 19h ago

Unfortunately, the trust is gone. After going from Obama to Trump, we realized we can't predict who will be the next US president, or who will be after that.

Canadians have also realized that the rest of the world makes great products, so why buy American when French, German, or Chinese alternatives are superior or just as good?

-2

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 19h ago

I'm a pretty average American guy, and I don't even really think about Canada.

1

u/slow_marathon 19h ago

0

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 19h ago

I was curious if you cross posted. But your history is hidden. Link it if ya do!

3

u/OpeningZebra1670 20h ago

We wouldn’t have the Gulf of America, Trump Center of the Performing Arts, or Lake America.

4

u/Sweatroo 20h ago

Flying cars. Maybe healthcare that doesn’t bankrupt you?

8

u/VisibleConfusion9926 20h ago

We are in this shitshow because of plans that started 50 years ago. If it wasnt trump it would be some other ass hat doing the same thing. The real down fall of this country stated under Reagan.

0

u/your_favorite_soup 20h ago

The real downfall was when the colonizers came, take you pick as to which ones

1

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 20h ago

Why don't you name a few, who have harmed you in particular.

1

u/your_favorite_soup 19h ago

I prefer to look at the broader pattern rather than focusing on personal anecdotes. The focus should be on the systemic issue rather than individual personal experiences.

2

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 19h ago

Are you better off now that you were 30 years ago?

1

u/your_favorite_soup 19h ago

Measuring progress by the last 30 years is wild when rent eats a whole paycheck and groceries require a payment plan. Society adapting to survive in spite of systemic damage isn't the ringing endorsement of history you think it is 🙄

1

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 19h ago

You didn't answer the question. It's a very basic question.

1

u/your_favorite_soup 19h ago

Okay I'll answer, I wasn't alive 🙄

1

u/TurkTurkeltonMD 19h ago

Of course you weren't.

1

u/your_favorite_soup 19h ago

Out with the old, in with the new 😝

Measles wouldn’t be killing as many children, salad wouldn’t be making people sick, the Straight would be open, we wouldn’t have toxic beef dumped on the poor, gas would be about $3 a gallon and, we would be celebrating our first female president. . .

2

u/Spillsy68 20h ago

Better. A lot better.

3

u/Rso1wA 20h ago

prettier

4

u/houseonpost 20h ago

Fox News would still be arguing over the colour of Hilary's pant suit.

2

u/Changoleo 19h ago

Imagine the honey mustard scandal!

3

u/Autumn_Ridge 20h ago

If Hillary would have won in 16, Biden would never have been president. She would have won in 20, and probably then in 24 we'd have Rubio or some other right winger winning.

3

u/norakb123 20h ago

I don’t think she’d have won in 20. The Republicans in Congress would have prevented her from passing anything in her term and then win by complaining she didn’t do anything (or any one of their old list of tactics).

People wouldn’t pay close attention and we’d have ended up with a Republican.

SCOTUS might be better, but that’s assuming they actually allowed any of her picks through.

1

u/SpeedBlitzX 20h ago

If Trump were never president he would never had access to the covid treatment before everyone else, meaning he'd probably would've been gone from covid long before.

1

u/wolf63rs 20h ago

Read again. That's what the person implies.

2

u/Eridain 20h ago

It would be very different. Tons of people that died would still be alive. Prices almost certainly would be lower. The US would not be the laughing stock of the world and it would actually have allies still. Anyone saying it would be the same is huffing some strong copium.

1

u/Ok_Put_5567 20h ago

Assuming a different Republican candidate took his spot in 2016…

Probably still would’ve snuck by Clinton in 2016 electoral college wise.

Would’ve lost 2020 due to covid and we would’ve gotten a Democratic candidate. Maybe Biden wouldn’t have ran.

If Biden won in 2020 against this hypothetical republican candidate, we’d probably still have a republican in office atm. Assuming Biden dropped out and replaced by Harris last minute.

If a different younger Democrat won in 2020, we’d probably be on second term democratic admin

1

u/soupjaw 20h ago

Trump was the only Republican Hillary would've lost to in that race, and Hillary is probably the only Dem from that cycle who would lose to Trump

1

u/wolf63rs 20h ago

Better than now.

1

u/Suspicious_Jump_8528 20h ago

The democrats would still blame the republicans. The Republicans blame the democrats. The people suffer. Much like it is now.

1

u/aad0italian 20h ago

The people saying same on this thread are the same idiots who probably voted for him or are complacent with all that’s wrong in this country.

First off we wouldn’t be at war with Iran, inflation would be much better, our media would hold politicians to better standards (it’s not like it was good before but it’s astronomically worse). We’d still have (better) reproductive rights for women. There’d be no stupid fucking tariff war exacerbating the inflation issue. We’d still be allies with our closest and longest ally in Canada. We’d have much better manufacturing jobs instead of losing tens of thousands of them over the last 18 months. We’d still have fairer elections.

If we’re going even further back to trump 1.0, it’s incredibly depressing to think where we could be if a more progressive candidate won like a Bernie. We could have universal healthcare, no medical debt, social safety nets for our most vulnerable population, less wealth inequality. Our public education system would have much higher standards and we wouldn’t have a literacy crisis like we do now. Our global reputation would be in much higher standards.

Trump appeals to the absolute worst in people and I’m thankful he’s exposed the worst this country has. Now it’s up to us to change it.

Two things trump has been for is exposing how fucking stupid and corrupt American government is and the rise of independent media.

Also going to go ahead and mute this thread after posting it probably because Americans are fucking idiots.

1

u/DeviantHellcat 20h ago

It doesn't matter. He did.

1

u/bairirjwkrrinekr 19h ago

some other doofus would take over and we’d still be doing badly

1

u/milo4206 19h ago

Depends how it happened - did he get defeated in the 2016 primary or in the general election? Either way would be better but alas.

1

u/Historical_Strain_81 18h ago

Well for one my parents’ business they’ve had for 23 years would’ve been open still….

1

u/HaxanWriter 6h ago

ICE would not be executing Americans in the street. That’s number one….

1

u/Ready_Creme_Ready 20h ago

We would look like a sane nation.

-1

u/[deleted] 20h ago

Same. Trump is the symptom not the desease

0

u/Das818 20h ago edited 20h ago

Red states might still have abortion rights. The Supreme Court Justices wouldn’t be so heavily stacked conservative. The deficit wouldn’t be in the trillions. Might still be billions under Democrats. lol. One thing is for sure. The Epstein files might have yielded actual results. Who knows.

-1

u/AppleDirector 20h ago

The exact same … news will still shill for clicks, people will still complain, etc.

Your LOCAL politics and home life affects you MUCH more than the Federal government.

0

u/search4truth 20h ago

The same as if any GOP member got elected. He is not a monolith and they have been steering us to this future for decades. When this old man croaks, remember he didn't do any of this alone.

0

u/Savings_Club3883 20h ago

Don’t know exactly but something opposite of what we have going now.

-6

u/Krystal_OnAKite 20h ago

Prolly same

-1

u/NoGovernment6864 20h ago

Same song, different chorus.

-7

u/CapableSet9143 20h ago

Man you people really are in love with him, huh? Can't go two seconds without mentioning him. Reddit is MASSIVELY left leaning and claim to hate Trump, but you all talk about him more than the right does. It's so strange

0

u/Eridain 20h ago

It's almost like he is a central figure fucking not just his own country, but everyone elses too.

-8

u/Faloughi 20h ago

A dump over run with illegals and no energy
