Guys in 10+ year relationships - what if a dude came up and started flirting with your lady right in front of you?

I'd watch him struggle 😂

That's what my man does 🤣. He's like "she can handle it"

Sounds like your biggest trouble is being overly attractive.

Getting hit on isn't really a big deal unless you make it a big deal. If you're in a relationship just refuse them and move on. My appearance is far from my biggest trouble. I have significantly bigger issues in my life than my socially deemed good looks

What is with these dumb/weird questions on here? And why does it matter if it is 10+ years?!?

u/zynnate 7h ago
10 plus years would mean most likely the guy is confident in his relationship rather than if it’s a guy who’s been with his girlfriend for a month. The answers going to vary

Not always, there are people in relationships for a long time but still are jealous and have low confidence/self esteem unfortunately. But really I am just wondering why these people ask these ridiculous questions on here all the time just to get karma and likes 😂

Some subs require a certain amount of karma to be able to join or comment. They often recommend to go to subs like this to get more Reddit clot. Plus the karma bots that ask the nonsense broken grammar questions

Cuz we don't need no testosterone fueled teenage drama queens sizing up hypothetical men in the comments.

There are tons of “grown up” men like that also

Just trying to filter out some of the noise. Not Interested in young love for this question.

My wife would publicly humiliated him and I would probably have to fight him. Ask me how I know this.

Not a dude but been with my man for almost 10 years, and it really doesn’t matter to either of us. It’s not like I’m going to suddenly run away with someone else and vice versa, there’s no macho feeling of needing to mark territory lol

Id watch. I never know if she's gonna be polite or toy with them. She can handle it herself.

My lady would like it, and I'd reap the rewards in bed that night. (Together nearly 20 years; married 10+).

Let her handle it. If she wants me to step in, I will. Otherwise, I don't own her. I want to be with her for as long as she wants to be with me.

I would watch and see how she handled it. If she gave a look or a signal to step in, I would.

This actually 'sort of' happened to me once, a guy came up and started flirting in a very familiar way with my wife. It turned out he thought he recognized her from 'years ago'. It all went down pretty quickly, so I think it was genuinely a case of mistaken identity.
But to answer your question - first it's important that this guy was ripped. Certainly stronger than me. Important because I quickly hit the point where I didn't give a damn, I was working on the exact wording in my head to tell this guy to f-off. My wife says she could see the hair standing up on the back of my neck. I was prepared that if this dude said ONE MORE flirty thing I was going to call him out - and that's right when he realized she wasn't who he thought, he apologized and moved on.
Again, in no way do I think that me bristling up is what shut him down, it was an honest mistake.
But I also now know to a certainty that I don't care who the dude is, I'm gonna get belligerent. Sooner rather than later.

24 years in.
This has happened to us more than once. We tend to go out with another couple and the dudes end having one conversation while the ladies have another. So the guy that most recently hit on my wife, he clearly saw us as two seperate groups at the bar. He walked to the bar between my wife and my pal, and he placed his hand on the small of her back and said some typical "excuse me darling" type stuff. Me and my pal stepped back and just I kinda watched it unfold. The bar tender knows us well and he couldn't keep a straiight face at all. Anyway, he flirted a bit and my wife didnt make it a thing at all until she saw my pal and I snickering in the distance, then she pointed us out to the dude and we bought him a beer. Nice enough guy, just shooting his shot.

I was the flirted once. Chatted up a woman at a bar, she got me to buy her drinks, seemed to be going well. Guy came up and said, 'Hey, man, that's my wife youre talking to'
I said 'You want a drink too?' and that diffused it. He took her by the elbow and stalked off, apparently she pulled shit like that for drinks a lot. Feel bad for the guy if shes going to act like that.

He would be immediately embarrassed by how little interest she had in him, and how directly she made that clear.

Depends on how clear it is that we are together.
Buy her a drink while I’m taking a leak? Could you grab us an app too. No harm, no foul.
Approach her while we’re talking? Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and request that you leave.
Persist or approach while we are clearly together (holding hands, embracing, etc) it’s likely getting physical.

u/WetSleevez 6h ago
Is it necessary to get physical though?

u/2clicksaway 5h ago
Depends how he responds to being told curtly to fuck off. It is absolutely necessary to get aggressive at that point of disrespect. Even subconsciously your wife is watching how you respond to a threat in that circumstance. I’m not saying that I’m going to haul off and crack him in the face but I am going to secure social dominance of the situation and see how he responds. If he’d like to get physical then so be it. I don’t like violence as there are no winners when a conflict has been elevated to those measures however when a situation that warrants violence is presented to me unwillingly I am not afraid to partake.

My wife is a hot colombian. Always happened, always a good laugh.
Anything else would mean you're insecure tbh

u/Chiinoe 7h ago
Would she react the same way? Latin women are crazy.

u/Visceral99 7h ago
My colombian ex (paisa) had me followed and threatened despite me being completely faithful. Yeah some latinas are batshit crazy.
But not my wife, that's why we've been together 14 years 🤣🤣

I’d laugh as my wife stood there looking at him blankly. We’re from New England so we’ve got good “Th’fuck you want” faces.

She's notoriously terrible at flirting and she gets flustered easily. It'd actually be pretty funny watching his confusion. He's very likely to walk away not knowing what just transpired. She's also very similar to men in that she has no idea when someone is flirting with her. So ill ask her afterwards how it felt being flirted with and she'll say "him? He wasn't flirting. He was just friendly"

I don't own any lady, slavery has been illegal for a while here. But you have your own lady?

I would want to pop him good and I would clearly let him know I will if he does not get the f*ck away from my wife.
