UCSF Hiring Process

Just wondering for any nurses or other staff who applied to work at UCSF, how long did it take you to hear back after submitting your application? And did they reach out through phone or email to you? I work nights now and tend to miss calls during business hours so I want to be prepared. Thanks

It’s slow. Can take months to hear back

It's slow. Do you know someone who works there? That will put you on the fast track but otherwise your app goes into a huge pile.

Source - RN in SF but not at UCSF

If she can’t even take matters into her own hands to google something simple like this before asking a question I wouldn’t want to hire her if I were an employer

It depends on how on top the hiring manager is and how on top the talent acquisition partner is. Best to contact the hiring manager directly and have them ask the ta to push through your application. If you don't know who the hiring manager is.... You need to network. Also Oracle is a mess. good luck

I had a relatively quick timeline when applying for a staff position with one of the academic offices, about a month and a half between submitting my application and receiving the offer letter. I recognize this is not typical as my hiring manager was very on top of things.

I think my process as a staff associate in research was about 6-8 weeks since application to hire. I heard back around 4 weeks, did a few interviews, and accepted at 8-9 weeks

~1 month. 2 months to complete interviews then 3 months to get through the HR paperwork with minimal response from them. Most of my communication was through email.
