The World Tour Racing soundtrack is now available on KHInsider in FLAC and MP3, with custom album covers I made for the release.
I also uploaded the extracted images, sprites and FMV/video material to Internet Archive, and put the complete OST together as a YouTube playlist.
I originally started this mainly because I wanted to preserve the soundtrack, but I ended up getting pretty attached to this obscure Jaguar game and wanted to preserve more of its content too.

I absolutely loved the music in Tempest 2000 on the Atari Jaguar, and I ended up getting really attached to the soundtrack. I liked it so much that I decided to pick up a used copy of the original soundtrack CD.
I've had it for almost a week now, and I'm really happy to have it in my little collection. Definitely something I wanted to own physically! 🐆

Hi! I'm currently trying to preserve the unused “Predator Test Theme” from Alien vs. Predator on the Atari Jaguar in the best possible quality.
I previously restored the Rayman Atari Jaguar soundtrack, carefully recording the music from the game and editing the captures in Audacity. Now I'm working on something a little more complicated: an unused track from AvP that apparently can't normally be heard in the game.
The Predator Test Theme exists in older soundtrack rips as MP3/OGG, but I would like to reproduce it directly through the game and make a lossless WAV/FLAC capture, rather than simply converting the existing lossy files.
According to VGMPF, GatoVerde95 extracted the soundtrack using BigPEmu, Cheat Engine and HxD, with the ROM in what is described as a “sound test mode.”
I've been reverse-engineering the retail ROM using BigPEmu Developer Mode to figure out how this was done.
So far, I've identified the game's original FullSynth music loader at:
0x99B2
And these music headers/scores:
0x20918 → 0xAF46E4 — Title Theme
0x2046C → 0xAF5584 — Character Select
0x20610 → 0xAF12DC — You Win
I've successfully redirected the game's original music loader and reproduced these tracks, including “You Win.” I've also managed to capture BigPEmu's audio output directly to lossless PCM WAV.
What I haven't been able to find is where the Predator Test Theme is stored or how it was originally triggered.
I know about the documented AvP debug mode, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't contain a sound test. This makes me wonder whether the “sound test mode” mentioned for the original rip was actually created by modifying the ROM with HxD/Cheat Engine, rather than being a hidden mode accessible normally.
I'm looking for any information about:
how the Predator Test Theme was originally extracted;
the AvP sound/music test tools
ROM offsets or RAM addresses related to unused music;
an old modified sound-test ROM or patch
unused FullSynth data
AvP music source code
or anything about the method GatoVerde95 used for the original soundtrack rip.
I also have a copy of Extremist Pack #4 and I'm currently searching through its old Atari Jaguar development files, FullSynth/music tools and source code for anything that could help.
I've also contacted GatoVerde95 directly to ask if he remembers how he created the sound test, but I thought I'd ask here as well in case anyone in the Jaguar community knows something about it.
Ultimately, my goal is to make the game actually reproduce the unused Predator Test Theme through its original audio engine and preserve the result as a clean lossless WAV/FLAC recording.
If anyone has any information, old development files, source code, patches, offsets, or even just remembers how this was done, I'd really appreciate the help!

I found this shirt at a local thrift store during a half-off sale, and the “Jaguars” logo immediately looked strangely familiar.
(As creator of Captain A the System Warrior, I had a feeling I was right.)
After checking it on my phone, I realized it wasn’t just similar, it's literally the Atari Jaguar logo with an “s” added to the end.
I’ve tried searching for information about it, but I can’t find anything that explains what this shirt actually is. There’s no Atari branding anywhere on the shirt, which makes it even stranger.
And why add the “S” to “Jaguar” in the first place? Is this some kind of unofficial Fan-made Atari merchandise, a completely unrelated brand using the logo, a knockoff, or something else entirely?
Does anyone recognize this or know what I found?

This game is a blast! (no pun intended). There’s not much to it really as far as the story, but it’s obviously just meant to be a modernized version of the original and nothing else. It definitely succeeds in that area!
Defender 2000 is a good pick-up-and-play option when I don’t feel like playing some dialogue-heavy modern game (like Yakuza and similar games), or even a retro game like that (like PoliceNauts, for example, which I was just playing on Saturn with the help of subtitles -awesome game btw) lol I went off topic but this game is fun if you own a Jag, check it out! This might make it to my top 15 fave Jag games actually!

v3.0.0 delivers:
Recent features from 2.x you may have missed
It's not perfect, but it's way better than ever!
Enjoy, and please report issue to the official github linked here.
I have limited access to hardware and software for the Jaguar, so hardware based "source of truth" regressions and flaws with details and screenshots or videos are greatly appreciated!
A future plan for native "bare bones" GUI are also planned for those that don't use RA or RA conformant front-ends.

Thinking of getting a Jaguar in the coming months and was wondering if there were any good games and homebrew stuff that I can check out. If there are homebrew games then where would be the best place to get them as high quality carts?
I know that I have to avoid retrowizardry2025 since people here warned me about that scumbag the last time I posted here.
Feel free to give me some suggestions.

Though I don’t think Kasumi Ninja deserves all the hate that it gets. It’s not even close to being one of the worst Jag games at all, IMO.
There are several fighters that are worse than KN on the Jaguar that I can think of. One of them is Fight for Life, which might be the worst (or at least close to the worst) Jaguar game ever made. That said, KN is definitely inferior to UV, that’s for sure.

…the difficulty is the main thing that keeps me from coming back to play again and again, otherwise it would probably be a game I would return to often.
I need to find a cheat code for more lives or something, then it wouldn’t be such a pain in the ass.
What’s the general consensus on this one? I know it was one of the later Jag releases and iirc, it was an Amiga or C64 port, something like that.
The Jag sure does get a lot of Amiga ports, even nowadays it’s still getting them for some reason.

I honestly never thought I would get one for such a good deal, the box is a bit tatty but the controller is mint, don’t think it’s ever been used. super happy to add this to the collection!

FYI: unfortunately I no longer own a Jaguar CD… I sold it 25 years ago like a dummy for peanuts when I lost interest in gaming briefly in my teenage years.
For some reason, I guess I forgot to include the pack-in game VidGrid with it when I sold my Jag CD (mint in box! 😢) . It’s unfortunately one of the least valuable Jag CD games along with Myst so I haven’t bothered selling it over the years and just use it as a display piece in my game room.
Btw, imo VidGrid is one of the very few worthy Jag CD games ever released, along with Iron Soldier 2, Battlemorph, Myst (slow game in general but not a bad version of it) and the excellent Primal Rage port which might be the best port of the game outside the arcade after the 3DO version.

Also, if anyone wants to listen to the complete Iron Soldier 2 soundtrack, "Orbinout Brawl" has an excellent YouTube playlist. It includes not only the regular soundtrack, but also the music from the game's FMV sequences, so every track is accounted for.

If anyone is interested in listening to the original Iron Soldier (Atari Jaguar) soundtrack, "Orbinout Brawl" has uploaded what is probably the highest-quality rip currently available. Every track was recorded directly from the game and allowed to loop more than twice, making it a great way to experience the soundtrack. Big thanks for preserving it!

As anyone familiar with the series knows, in his appearances in the Street Fighter Alpha games, Adon (who originally appeared in the original 1987 Street Fighter as the next-to-last boss), always includes "jaguar" as part of the names of his special moves, "Jaguar Kick", "Jaguar Knee" (where he just screams "Jaguar!"), and "Jaguar Tooth".
Would this have caused problems for a possible release of the games on this system, or would there not be any kind of problems at all?
