I was thinking about maybe getting this for ITB sample library cleanup. I have a super-old not-useful copy of Izotope RX, would use that if I had a recent version. And I don’t own Fabfilter Pro-G. (And I don’t buy Waves.)

Given the price would this do the job, or would another plugin in this price range be better?

What DAW do you use? Honestly it doesn't seem crazy compared to Ableton's Gate for instance.

I do use Ableton Live Standard. I have loops and one-shots from cheap sample vendors that I'd like to be able to eventually use but many have some combo of junk/bleed/room/decay. So I want to do some sample library cleanup if possible. When using gate/expander in Ableton it doesn't edit the files, just changes the audio as it plays, so to work on this library I'd need to manually render each file. It's a chore.

I was looking at the expander part of the SSL gate and the visual feedback might be useful in speeding up the process... though it's still a manual process.

They are not really gates, but acon digital got a great suite that is pretty cheap compared to RX and similarly capable
