Interview/Job applications APS5 Referees Through Aurion

Applying for an APS 5 position and have to apply through the Aurion portal. Happy to put current manager but don’t want to alert them until later in the process.

Will they give me a heads up before contacting or should I not put current manager on but offer to provide there contacts upon request.

It's good curtsy to ask for permission from the people you would like be to a referee beforehand, even if you end up not putting them down; it removes awkward conversations later on, and give you a sense of whether they be a good reference or not.

Typically the interview panel will confirm your references' contact details, sometimes may ask you that they have permission to contact your references, either at the end of the interview or via email post interview. But they may not contact your references if you have not scored strong enough against the selection criteria.

Is this for an internal EOI? If so you should really talk to your manager prior to submission. My manager was notified of an EOI that i submitted (although not sure how long it took).

No would be moving from the private sector.

Oh, in most forms you can tick a box that says to contact you prior to contacting refs if a referee is mandatory to add to the form. Maybe check if that tickbox is there?
