I Modeled This! I designed a bot that transforms into a Fudge-Pop. I call him Fudgement Day

Post image

This is the first of several new Docobots that I have made. As with all my other bots, all files can be downloaded for free from MakerWorld

I was trying to come up with something that was similar to "Hasta La Vista, Baby" only it started with "Häagen-Dazs" but I just couldn't get there.

Thank you 🙏
I have actually been making them for some time now. It all actually started with a contest on Printables three and a half years ago. It was a toy car contest I believe, and I wanted my entry to stand out so I decided a hippy van transformer was the way to go. It was very crude, didn't win the contest, nor did it deserve to, but I had ton of fun designing it and I've been scratching that itch ever since.

i have more of a philosophy and approach question- Where do you start? I can design a car, I can design a dude... but how do you approach it knowing they have to work together? Thanks!

I always model the base item first. In the case of Fudgement Day, I modelled a solid fudge-pop first (far left in pic). Then I adjusted the length and cut it into rough pieces. From there I take it limb by limb and fight for every mm of room I can get while trying to make everything fit.

Well this isn't the type of thing I do at all but envious of your imagination. This is exceptionally rad. Great work. Seriously.

Apologize to my girlfriend for the giant delay you just added before she gets any more crocheting accessories.

This reminds me of the family guy joke with the transformer that transforms into canoe

I like your Banana Assassin transformer!

Thank you. The Assassanana was a popular bot for me last summer. It's due an upgrade though. The joints on those older bots don't hold nearly as good as the joints on the new series.

Karate Carrot is still one of my all time favorite prints! Looking forward to printing Fudgement Day.

Can this dude been done in PLA? I see the print profile all has the stronger materials.

Also, been meaning to print your beauty and the beast print for ages! its so well done.

I love these out of the box ideas so much! I envy your design, I have a very practical and mechanical mindset and lack the creativity for something like this. Well done!
