Flying to bangkok first time with my toddler. My flight lands at 11:55 pm. By the time i get out of airport, it will be really late like 1 AM in the night may be. How safe is it for female travellers with kids? Is airport hotel shuttle a good option? Or taxis are also safe? What should I know before I step out? How is the area around airport in general? Is it safe and busy? Not so safe and busy? Not so busy at night? Sorry for too many questions

I’m currently staying in Suthisan and thinking about moving to On Nut.
One of the reasons I’m considering On Nut is that
it’s on the Green Line, so getting to Siam or Asok seems pretty easy, but the rent is still more affordable compared to those areas.

For people who live around On Nut, how is it actually living there ? Is it a good area for everyday life ? Just trying to see if it’s worth moving there.

Im with my partner thinking of going for two months to Bangkok area in October and a November.
The plan would be to rent a private villa with private pool.
Was checking Airbnb and got super confused.
For one specific house weekly rent was 600 euros, but the same house for a month is 800 Euros.
Also there were some houses which theoretically cost 5000 Euros but they for a month asking 1500 euro.
How does that make sense?
Started digging into and found out that there's many scams around, and additional charges for electricity, water, security deposits etc.
Now I'm confused and don't want to get scammed, what would be the best way to avoid all that?

Also there's not many villas available, at least through Airbnb, maybe there are some other, better sites?

I feel like I haven't seen a ripe mango in 2 weeks, just green ones. Even the sticky rice stall is out. One day, there were piles, and then suddenly, there were none. I know they're out of peak season, but this feels sudden.

Wasn't there a dramatic oversupply this year? Did I miss something?

Hi guys, me and my partner are soon visiting Bkk (this is our 3rd time). We have absolutely fallen in love with Thai food and love trying new Thai places. So far we’ve done Nara Thai, Sri Trat, and some places in Koh Samui I don’t remember the name now.

Google Maps makes me walk all the way around, but looking at the map, it feels like there might be a shortcut through one of the properties.

I live in a semi open old school town house. Recently I have been seeing some tiny droppings which I speculate are from roof rats.

What can I do to prevent them from entering? What may be attracting them? How do you guys deal with it if you have any experience?

I'm traveling to Bangkok for 5 days with my 20 month old. If I can find a high quality, reputable babysitting service; I was considering leaving her with one for an hour or two so I could like get a massage and have a break.

I have a trip booked for 6 weeks, leaving end of September from Canada. I understand the new visa exemption rule takes place September 15th. Now I have a Roundtrip booked, however it is 6 weeks as mentioned, It was booked about 2-3 months ago. Now this will be my third trip to Thailand, I have never been questioned at immigration as I have stayed a total of 6-8 weeks in the past at a time with the 60 day visa exemption in the past. With this new rule taking place, I understand I will have to extend my stay at the immigration office. However, will I have problems at immigration or heading in to Thailand with the new rule taking place on the 15th, given I won't have a tourist visa entering, with my stay being 45 days instead of the 30 day visa free? How would i approach this as I have a month before departure

My friend and I live in Bangkok, and we’re planning a proper out out like we used to do in the UK. From past experience, however, I’ve found the clubbing culture in Thailand to be rather different and takes some getting used to because the Thais don’t seem that keen on taking to the dance floor and would just congregate around tables, glued to their phones. The only place I really enjoyed the vibes was Koh Samui, where the international mix made it quite similar to clubbing in the UK with the crowd actually dancing to the beats. Music there was also great.

Bangkok, however, is rather a mixed bag and music is (for me) a hit and miss, with many venues predominantly playing dubstep or hardcore techno, of which we are not fans. Would prefer any mainstream dance mix or EDM like Avicii or David Guetta or something similar. But honestly, anything that’s dance worthy without being just techno is grand.

Another huge problem for us is, well, Bangkok being Bangkok and it unfortunately attracts a fair amount of creeps and men who are here for sex tourism, which means that many nightlife venues become the trading market for those services or at least where men go to see dances by the special show girls. While I respect those girls and their needs to work (illegally or otherwise), it really kills the vibes for female tourists/ expats looking to have a good night out. So, we are looking for a place that has little to no sex tourism undertone with good music, where people are there just to enjoy themselves. Drinks are not that important as we’re going to be doing pres at home before going out anyway, so even if their rum and coke was quite watered-down it won’t be an issue for us!

Why is it that they all seem to own huge corporations, or manage huge transcontinental businesses?

Is there a common competitive pub chat between them that they all size eachother up and feel a competitiveness to just straight up lie about what they do. I do understand this as when i was a teenage boy, we all exaggerated our stories, bank accounts ect to look cool, but i feel majorly across the expat community, you rarely meet an honest one who is confident enough to tell you they just do something normal 😂
