I legitimately thought this post was from this sub because it was so funny to me

I was just thinking how these past 10-20 years really haven't been great for Marvel. They used to be doing so well with the Spider-Man: Ravencroft games that were just so legendary along with the MCAU which had some truly goated series like Avengers: Unlimited and Spider-Man: Beyond.

But then as we all know... Blue Beetle came out in 2008 and changed everything. It launched the DCU, proving that a B-tier character can still pull off a great movie and even lead an entire film series which has now become the highest grossing movie franchise of all time, with Tom Holland's latest Batman movie already raking in over 5 billion dollars in just a few weeks.

Yes, while we did also get the masterpiece 2008 Christopher Nolan Spider-Man movie The Public Menace, Marvel unfortunately made the grave mistake of trying to copy the DCU but instead rushing everything because they were so desperate for that Justice League money that the MCEU turned out like such hot garbage they literally had to reboot it with James Gunn's Captain America. And while it was fairly successful and a fun movie, the follow up Bucky solo film completely tanked in the Box Office.

And on the gaming side of things, let's be real here, Marvel doesn't have shit for games besides Spider-Man, Marvel Universe Online, Unavenged: Gods Among Us, and Unavenged 2. It just seems like Marvel has never quite got back on track, and the moment the open world Storm game got cancelled and Megalith Productions was shut down was just the final nail in the coffin if you ask me.

Sure, Lego Spider-Man is great and all, but Marvel really has proved that without Spider-Man they don't have shit. It's just sad when you compare it to DC and all the amazing games we've been getting besides just Batman like Insomniac's Flash, DC's Mid-day Moons, Ambush Bug VR, DC Galactic Incursion, and of course DC Allies and DC Tokon Saving Souls. Meanwhile what else has Marvel had? That shitty ass live service Defenders: Kill The X-Men game?

Idk, sorry for rambling... I just wish we lived in a perfect world where both DC and Marvel were doing good. Instead we're living in this fucked up ass timeline where Marvel went to shit and DC has become so unbelievably huge it's not even funny. Idk... Do you see a future where Marvel can comeback and once again compete with DC like it used to?
