Map mods not working.

I downloaded a mod Battle Realms Remastered at Battle Realms: Zen Edition Nexus - Mods and community from NexusMods, it supposed to work for the Zen Edition version, but maps are failing when I use them, it just takes me to a black screen and never loads. Did I put it in the wrong folder?
I put it under levels since there is no map folder.

What exactly is the mod supposed to be doing? Just adding maps? Why not simply download and copy paste the maps into the folder?

I did copy and paste it into Battle realms folder but it wasn’t working, so I was wondering if there was a specific folder it should be dropped to. It’s a map mods.

By "map mods" you mean just a collection of maps?

If that is the case, then:

Maps go into the "Levels" folder. That is, the *.sam or *.bre files are directly under Levels/.

I don't know, whether BR supports putting maps in subdirectories of Levels, so I would avoid that (for example Levels/my-awesome-map-pack/some-map-file.bre).

If the maps are valid, then they will show up in game. That's all there is to it.

The maps should be valid cause the mod was created May 11th of this year. It should work for Zen Edition version.

Even these days there are people sticking with WotW version of the game, instead of ZE. I am not aware of anything, that would make WotW maps not work on ZE though.

when I put under the Battle realms folder, the maps shows up on the game, but when I use it, it gives me an error. Is the mod not compatible on the Zen edition version or did i put it in the wrong folder, which folder do you guys put custom map packs?

There is no other appropriate folder than the one I mentioned already. If the maps don't work properly there, then either the game has a bug or the maps are broken.

Redownload / try to find the same maps from another source / check on the BR Discord server, whether these maps are valid. Could even be they are malware you downloaded from nexusmods. Or someone used WotW version of the game to make the maps and they don't work for ZE. I think your best bet might be to ask around on the Discord server.

Personally, I've never downloaded a "mod" (actually just a "map pack" it seems) from nexusmods for BR. I always downloaded maps one by one after looking at screenshots and sorting out tons of trash maps, and then putting the map files in the Levels/ folder. That's it.

Do you have any suggestions on where to download custom maps?

Put the custom maps into Levels folder. That's it and do not create another folder inside the levels folder.
