I used to be in good shape and was an athlete in high school. Could long jump over 19 feet and ran the 100 meter dash in 11.7 seconds. While not mind blowing, certainly in good shape and an athlete. I was also very into fitness and health.
Since then, I have turned 32 years old, got a dexa scan, and found out I was 5'11 189lbs and 30% body fat. I got the dexa scan a month ago, and since then I am down 5 pounds and feel and look much better.
My goal is to into the best shape of my life and hit the 10-15% range and be fit and athletic. I have taken a fascination into workouts like the p90x 1-3 series, insanity series (original insanity, asylum 1&2, max 30, t25), bodybeast etc.
Although I have been making solid progress on my own workouts at the gym, I am thinking about cancelling my gym membership and sticking exclusively to at home workouts. I have the Rogue pull up resistance bands complete set that can go up to over 200 pounds of resistance, Powerblock USA adjustable dumbells that can go up to 90 pounds, a doorway pull up bar, jump rope, agility ladder, disc cones, and a barbell and bumper weight plates. All I would need is an adjustable squat rack like the valor bd9's and that would be my equipment.
My question is, though, would only doing beachbody workouts be enough to be both healthy, strong, athletic, and fit for a lifetime? If I were to continously just rotate through all of the classic p90x series, insanity series, and add in others like body beast and dig deeper and max built, and just rotate through them continously throughout the years, would that be sufficient?
Would I be missing out on any components of fitness? For context, I participate and compete in tennis and brazilian jiu jitsu, and also want to try out triathlons and maybe hockey as well. I want to be an athlete and be in shape the rest of my life, and I want to know if I were to just stick to at home beach body workouts if I would be limiting myself or if this would be sufficient.
