Im not sure how old she is, I got her in April and she was eating about 10 crickets a day, as she got bigger, I switched to dubias and stayed with 10. She gets greens as well. Collard and turnip are her favorites, she has about 10-20 mins of "out time" a few times a day, but I think I may be over feeding her, I was looking at her before I went to bed last night and was wondering if she was overweight (she was also pancake-ing while sleeping, so she might have looked bigger) and looked up a chart and i might just be paranoid because i love her so much. I dont have a scale, I'm gonna make a vet appointment soon, so that might help my anxiety, was just wondering if anyone could tell just from pics, and her tank will be upgraded very soon, just waiting on a paycheck.

Our 1,5 year old baby Ophelia developed a lump in her tail. It was small and we thought it was a stuck shed (last shed wasn't complete, it stopped at the base of her tail). She was happy and unbothered, we upped her calcium a bit to help with the shed. A month later she stopped eating and the lump grew, so that week we took her to the vet. We have a regular vet who sees and treats reptiles but also have a specialist on speed dial. They all thought it would be a lump full of fluid, so they went to drain it. Unfortunately, what came out of Ophelias tail was more like raw chicken. Both our vet and the specialist say it's benign, but it will grow back. They think it's some sort of scar tissue that grew because of a bacterial infection. They've seen only one other case like this and in that case the lumps grew back and the beardy didn't make it. They're advising to remove her tail as last resort. Since the removal of the chicken lump she has a gaping wound in her tail, she lives on kitchen towel now of course and gets antibiotics. She's super happy now and eats again like a champ!

I'm feeling really uneducated. It's our first dragon and we're trying to do everything right, but it feels like I'm just missing some knowledge here. Is this some weird thing that happens sometimes? Is it bad breeding? She's an orange leatherback. We have the right lamps, we feed her gut loaded dubias, sometimes crickets and silkworms, she eats greens, has enough space. I would really appreciate some insights as our vets have only seen one other case like this. If she can live a happy life without tail that's fine, but I do want to make sure it's the right choice.

Hello! My bearded dragon has been undergoing multiple treatments for coccidia and now a very high flagellette count. Every time his tail has shed it has been from the base down, but now it seems to be flaking from the tip. He was just at the vet less than 2 weeks ago but his tail didn't look like this then. Can anyone tell me if this looks concerning or if it is a normal shed? He's always had the kink

I got this cutie patootie a couple days ago, and I think her previous owner didn't really care for her. I take her out of the terrarium at least twice a day, sometimes I bring her out of the house with me and I was wondering if I should also let my beardie roam free around my room. And if yes, is it a requirement, is it a nice experience for the beardie or is it more like something I do for myself so I don't feel guilty about putting her in a terrarium? Of course if I were to do that, I would make sure there's nothing she can hurt herself on, or no place she could easily get stuck. I just want her to feel happy in her new home

im so scared i wont be able to take care of her if my town loses power for the long term. its becoming a very real possibility where i am. absolute worst case scenario, is there anything i can do to keep her well through the winter? im in the northwest and it gets so cold. i dont have a generator and couldn’t run it safely with my apartment if i could afford one anyways. do i need to give her away? any advice or opinions appreciated

Should I be concerned about this? Is this some form of scale, rot or potentially just a bruise from rubbing at shed? I’ve had this little guy for about a month and a half now and he has been great overall. He is in a enclosure that is just over 4 feet long and slightly under 2 feet tall. He has an ambient air gradient of 85 to 86 on the warm side and 77 to 79 on the cool side with the humidity gradient that goes from 35 to 46 on each respective side. The peak spot on his basking rocks sometimes reaches 108 to 109° in a very localized position, but overall is much more consistent in the 101 to 105 range. He has been going through a shed that is increasing over the last few days from the top of his head, covering his back to his tail base. I do not believe he is shedding as heavily on his stomach, but he could be getting there as well after just completing a full shed of all four limbs and tail last couple weeks. His enclosure has a mix of tile and paper towel floor that is soon to be replaced with Australian desert sand along with the tile spots, he has a cork bark wall, which he likes to climb, as well as 8+ other branches, three wooden hides, and a few rock basking points, other than his main one. All that being said, his stool remains consistent and good looking, he is active and moves around throughout the day when not basking, and eats a mix of roaches, fly larva, and very occasionally super worms and horn worms. He also eats his entire bowl of salad daily. He does not appear to be in any discomfort or pain when gently touching at this spot. Should I be concerned about this? Is this some form of scale, rot or potentially just a bruise from rubbing at shed?

We were just cuddling and enjoying each other’s presence when he decided I’d make a good litter box. Of course I’m honored that he trusts me enough to pop on me especially since I got him a month ago but unfortunately it stank and slide down my stomach onto the bed. A new rule was implemented today that the lizard can’t go onto the bed until after he’s pooped.

I had my little dude on paper towels before this. I didnt want to do all dirt so I built this retaining wall and replaced to paper towels with some plastic reptile mat on the non-dirt side. How does it look?

Got my boy an upgraded tank, a second hand Zen Habitats. The acrylic is pretty beat up and discolored from the previous occupant. Is there an easy way to restore it without any advanced tools? (I live in an apartment, can't really do any crazy work). Or should I just get new custom cut pieces?

I did check the Zen Habitats store for replacement doors, seems like they've been out of stock for a while.

She used to have this rock in her smaller 40gal and I upgraded her to a 120gal a good few months ago with a brick basking spot, she sits there but returns to her old rock, which is a few inches away from the basking spot almost always.

8 year old female beardie

I want to start by saying that I’m taking my bearded dragon into the vet tomorrow. I got concerned because she has a very swollen stomach, is lethargic and, not eating. It’s been about three days. I took her to the ER yesterday. They did some testing such as an ultrasound and x-ray but ultimately told me I need to see a specialist which was very frustrating because at first they told me they did have an exotic vet, but I guess not a specialist. I’m very worried about her. She has laid eggs in the past and also had to have surgery about two years ago due to a prolapse.

The vet who examined her at the ER also thinks she may have mouth rot because her saliva was ropy and she had a bit of discoloration.

I feed her mostly mustard greens and collard greens and dubia roaches.

Today she was straining a bit, but nothing was coming out. I don’t know if this is constipation or something much more serious. She did eat some very large dubia roaches a couple days ago that I did not see in her tank they had been hiding for a while and when I went to clean it, they got out and she ate them.

Her beard has been very black and she just looks miserable and I feel horrible for her. I’m hoping she’ll be OK overnight tonight before taking her to the vet tomorrow at two.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or know anything based on these images?

i think he is chill. he's only been home for 3 days though so maybe it's the former.....

Trog was diagnosed with heart failure back in July, we have put her on a higher dose of Lasix and she has gotten her quality of life back. She will never fully recover, and eventually she will decline, but thankfully the Lasix is working wonders right now. We have no idea how long she has left on this planet but I promised her to let her go peacefully when the time comes but for now I get to spend some good days with my girl and I’m so happy so we celebrated her third birthday the other day, she got a tiny cake made from grub pie gel, some bee pollen and some special treats. 🥳❤️
