Ask Belleville Trying to source Dominican/Caribbean foods

I would love to find Dominican/Caribbean products in or near Belleville, specifically

  • Culantro
  • Aji Dulce
  • Casabe/Cassava bread
  • Auyama/Kabocha Squash
  • Dominican Oregano
  • any other Dominican products

I believe there is some availability in Toronto/GTA, but I would prefer to stay within 60 min of Belleville if possible (delivery is fine too, if available)

Ask Belleville Reporting Bad Driving ?

Hey is there any point in reporting bad drivers to the Belleville police or OPP? When I lived in Durham there was a DRPS web form for submitting reports and the police would issue a written warning to the driver by mail.

Not terribly interested in opinions on the topic as much as actual experience and facts.

Discussion Lake America + Quinte Broadcasting

Now that Trump has renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America, I’m curious as to whether Quinte Broadcasting’s MAGA meteorologist Kevin Williams will refer to it as such. Will the Morton family finally sever ties with this clown or will they let him spout this nonsense about our waters on our local airwaves.

Ask Belleville What are schools generally like in Belleville?

My sister and her husband are moving to Belleville in a few months, and they have a 5 year old and 2 year old. Their 5 year old is mildly autistic, has an IEP, and will require some kind of special education support. What are the schools generally like here? And if you have experience utilizing special education programs what has your experience been like?

Me and my parents moved to Belleville 4 years ago, a year after I graduated high school, so I've never gone to school in the area and have no idea what they're like.

Ask Belleville Any stores or hobby shops that sell RPGs and books?

Hello, I’m wondering if there are any stores or hobby shops in Belleville or Trenton that sell role-playing games and books? I’m mainly interested in vintage material and books.

I checked out P Market and they had some D&D stuff but not a lot. If you have any suggestions, please let me know, thanks!

Moving to Belleville Any local supports for disabled youth?

Hi everyone! I'm 22F with autism, ADHD, and a learning disability. I'm moving with my family to Belleville in a couple weeks from Vaughan, and I'm pretty excited. However, I was wondering if there's any local supports or programs that can help with getting a job. I already have work experience stocking shelves at a grocery store and library, and working part time at a doggy daycare.

But I don't have a job lined up for me yet here in Belleville, so I'm wondering if there's any local employment agencies or anything like that that can help. Preferably somewhere that's familiar with neurodivergence/learning disabilities. I'm also looking into getting mental health counselling or therapy, so if anyone knows of any good mental health resources, I would greatly appreciate that too.

Also, just out of curiosity what is the transit generally like? I'll be near downtown, and I can't drive so I will have to rely on buses to get around.

Are there such year round parks, for either mobile homes or manufactured homes (similar to tiny homes I guess) in/near Belleville? Looking for an alternative to renting, but can't financially or physically manage a full house or condo.

Recommendations A part time job here in Belleville for someone with my type of attention deficit?

I'm on ODSP, in my 30s and haven't really worked in a long time though I did just complete my high school. I have some sort of chronic ADHD. I space out too much to process simple instructions. I need to work in total repititions. Like I have to know exactly what the work I need to do is and do it repititvely over and over or else I would just stand around and be clueless. I get confused enough to breakdown when given instructions of any kind. I had a paper route in my 20s and it was so repetitive I don't remember if I did it for two years or four years. I did enjoy that though. I need to find part time work here in Belleville like that. I'm not sure if anyone here has had a job like this here in Belleville.

Recommendations Writing Group Admin Wanted

Where can I post job/gigs for people in Belleville?

I'm looking for a part time assistant/admin for a writing group that I plan to start. I've posted on Craigslist, but that's a crap shoot, and I don't really want to use something like Indeed because the job isn't that serious. I want to pay for actual help, but it's not like 40 hours a week or anything. It would probably be $30 and hour, 3 or 4 hours a week.

I don't have Facebook. Does anyone know anywhere else where I can look for applicants that would be a good fit for this?
