📷 Photo Saw my first ever Loon!
I was in northwest Maine and saw a ton of Loons (and my first northern parula). Beautiful animals, unbelievable eyes and the calls are one of the best in the bird world.

Return of the weekly discussion thread! Sometimes it seems like pretty photos rise to the top of the page, while discussion of birding can get left behind. This weekly thread is a place to bring this discussion back to the top of r/birding.
Use this thread to share your best bird sightings from the past week, ask any questions about birding you may have, or just talk! Writing the names of the birds in bold is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names. Please include your location.

I sat in front of this beautiful banyan tree with tons of tiny red figs all over it. There were tons of birds of many different species it was incredibly beautiful.

Saw this beautiful gent at a restaurant with very active hummingbird feeders, it was quite an experience to see 15 hummingbirds buzzing around and fighting!

Caught these guys in another mating display again which was super cool.
Could someone ID these? They don’t look like the species I’ve seen before, but I’m leaning towards spruce grouse. Location is NWT, Canada

One of my favorites from my last outing. Not sure why, I just like it.

I haven’t seen any hummingbirds out this year and suddenly this guy wanted to show up so I got some cool photos! Definitely a little difficult with how skittish they are, as soon as I raised my camera they would fly off but it’s alright because they kept coming back!
