Put this in the same bucket as "Create an Account for Pricing".

Open the email/text we sent to verify it’s really you.

We won’t tell you, but your number is actually tied to a different address. And we can’t do anything about that so you have to access the old email or get a new phone!

Post "word" in my Instagram video comment section if you want to hear more about my scam

Yep and don't give me the shitty online menu with no information so I have to guess what is/isn't vegetarian etc...

"Try our new FORAGE BURGER! A unique blend of tastes centered around mushrooms and umami! Add cheese [$0.99] or a gluten-free bun [$1.99]!"

Somehow I feel like I actually know less about this burger than I did before I was aware of its existence. Does it actually have mushrooms? If it does, does it also have a normal burger patty? Does it have literally anything else on it? Is it slathered in some sort of special sauce that would be ruined if I asked for ketchup and mustard? Or if I don't add those, will I get a dry burger bun with nothing but mushrooms and maybe beef?

I don’t even care if it has prices on it which is the argument everyone gives. I just want to see if this place offers healthier meal options or if I should eat before going of the group.

Yep. Pricing isn't the only important detail on a restaurant menu, to put it mildly.

A local pizzeria has recently taken their regular menu offline and replaced it with an online order form which is a pain to navigate. Taking my business to the other local pizzeria that has a plain menu online.

It's not even that hard to make a menu item clickable with the customization option already available, businesses are just dumb like that

Tbf some places do have different menus based on where they are so that isn’t always silly.

I still think you should be able to see it though since most of the menu should be the same.

I’d rather see what newly featured promotions they have first and then find out my location doesn’t have it than give my location just to browse the menu

So what happens when you want to have the chicken Alfredo penne because that's on the website menu, but the specific restaurant you are going to doesn't actually have that?

“Menu varies by location” at the top of the menu section.

Also, depending on the size of the chain, different menus for different locations is very feasible (my city has a local restaurant chain that does that).

That’s just two actual options, I am sure someone else can think of more.

Yeah...but that requires you to tell the website where you are, even just by which specific restaurant you picked (ie; you're likely in the northwest if you select the northwest location as it's probably selected because it's the closest one to you), which was the initial complaint.

u/arcanis321 1h ago

That's completely relevant to see a specific stores menu. Each store may have minor differences in offerings or price creating a different menu.

"Go to our mobile app to confirm login attempt"

(ADP btw)

u/hagdog 3h ago

That's because the menu and pricing can change based on location

u/catechizer 2h ago

List your different locations and let me pick one. You don't need to know my address.

u/hagdog 43m ago

I don't disagree with you. I just think it's supposed to be a convenience thing.

This one can make some sense at least. Availability can easily vary by location.

To every company that does this. If I look at the menu ND have to make an account I'm never going to shop there again. I am getting food, not a lobotomy.

this pmo so bad 😭 "delivery or pickup! pick a restaurant/give us your address!" and either I'm telling someone else what I want from there or I'm about to be there and I'm just fucking half blind so I cant see the menu

4

u/Taint_Surgeon 2h ago

And then you fill in all that info and it says you can't view the menu because that store is closed/not accepting orders at this time

5

u/Venoft 3h ago

"Go to the last fucking page on checkout to see shipping price."

u/windsockglue 3h ago

Unless of course as a business you love abandoned carts.....

u/DishinDimes 54m ago

I decided to go to Burger King for the first time in quite a while. I opened the website and checked the menu to figure out what I wanted before heading out. Added a couple items to the cart and then went to take a screenshot of the cart so I could read it back later. It said I had to create an account to even view the cart!

Fuck that, I went somewhere else. Ruined it instantly for me.

I mean that’s not that bad though, it’s not like you HAVE to order once you start one… it’s annoying yes, but that doesn’t make it useless.
