I would love if the novel is set in a mountainous rural region. i would love there to be some magical realism elements and i would really the trope where the main character experiences a lot of despair and sadness but has a relationship they can hold on to for comfort and joy, something like the relationship being a source of safety in an otherwise hostile environment.

Whether it ends up being resolved or not, ends happily or not, whatever. This just needs to be a major plot point, please and thank you!

It HAS to be in a rural village or rural of SOME sorts. Also HAS to be set in Asia. Preferably no cheating because that makes me disconnect from the characters. I have been looking for a book like this for so long. Where two girls grow up in a rural village where homesexuallity is such a no no that it's barely even brought up and is a taboo topic. Also where woman are expected/have arranged marriages. A LOT of yearning please. I have been trying to find a book with this plot and vibe for SO long.

Looking for literary fiction that revolves around popular vacation spots, preferably beach towns, that exist in the off-season. Acknowledging the locals and how their businesses sustain after high season comes to an end. Main characters that return to once cherished locations that now don't hold the same weight.

I am looking for books that are about people hunting monsters or in general supernatural entities. Can be utterly absurd and pulpy like DMC and hellsing, or more serious and gritty.
