Community feedback please!

Hi everyone, Brandon Sun reporter here:) I'm hoping to get feedback from residents in Brandon and talk with some people about their city bills (water bill, property tax, etc.).

Have the increases effected your day-to-day life? Do your bill payments impact other areas of your life? What has your experience been like paying city bills?

I'm all ears to any and all comments about your experience or thoughts. And please don't be shy to reach out, I'm available to be DM'ed here, you can call my work number 204.571.7440, or send an email to [rgerrard@brandonsun.com](mailto:rgerrard@brandonsun.com)

The core of this inquiry: the city is headed for an election. What do you want candidates to be talking about as they compete for your vote.

I think I'm outspoken enough so I won't belabour my opinions here.

I'll only note that if you haven't considered it already, I'd suggest expanding your query to ebrandon and a couple of the facebook groups. I don't use facebook anymore but I think "Brandon & Area Sound Off" and "People of Brandon" are two frequenty(ish) cited ones around here.

Due to the Canadian Bill C-18 the Brandon Sun is unable to post anything on Facebook and that’s why we have those pages posting what they can to try and keep people informed. It’s such a stupid law and I hope they change it soon.

I can't claim to be well informed about C-18 and all the minutia there.

I was under the perception that C-18 limited news/news aggregation. This isn't news, this is a reporter asking for the experiences or anecdotes in the community.

Strip off the title "reporter" and what exactly is Rylee doing that she couldn't do as Rylee Gerrard, private citizen?

Yes as a private person they can for sure- I was just explaining that as the Brandon Sun they are literally not able to post on Facebook and I think it’s stupid. I’ve seen individual people ask things on there before

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried to post in the "People of Brandon" chat, but haven't been given permission to do so by the admins. As soon as I do, I promise more people will see my name popping up on socials lol. But I'll check out the other ones too. Thanks again :)
