Ahoj, som v BA pár mesiacov a stále nemám veľa ľudí, s ktorými by som mohla chodiť von. Pre mňa ako introverta je ťažšie nadväzovať nejaké kamarátstva a cítim, že mi chýba občasná spoločnosť a ľudia, s ktorými sa môžem stretnúť a porozprávať sa. Rada sa stretnem von na káve, čisto nezáväzne, a ak sa stretneme v záujmoch, som otvorená aj nejakým spoločným aktivitám. 

Ak je tu tiež niekto v podobnej situácii, budem rada ak sa mi ozve :) 32F, viac o sebe napíšem v DM ☺️

I did a day trip from Vienna to Bratislava in 2024 and it was an amazing day trip! The Old Town and Bratislava castle had so much history and were well worth a visit! I think it's definitely worth a longer stay next time.

We visited the old town of Bratislava today and my husband fell while leaving a souvenir shop. The shop was Danube Souvenir at Rybárska Brána 217, Bratislava 811 01 Slovakia.

Across the street from the souvenir shop was a little bakery and the people there were so kind to my husband. They brought bandages and antiseptic spray and were just so kind and helpful. The bake shop had tables and chairs outside.

I have looked on Google Streetview to see if I can find the bake shop but it appears there was a clothing store there when the street was last photographed by Google.

If anyone could help me find the email address or website of the people at the bake shop, I would very much appreciate it. I really want to thank them for what they did for us.

Je niekde blizko Bratislavy nejake dobre miesto, kde sa da na taketo daco zajst?

Ahojte, ako hovorí titulok - zaujímalo by ma, či v Bratislave existuje niečo ako StopXam - či už len zopár organizovaných jednotlivcov, alebo nejaké skupinky... Snažil som sa niečo dohľadať, ale bez úspechu.

Prečo ma to zaujíma? Už dlhšiu dobu ma hnevá, ako poniektorí polovodiči arogantne a vedome porušujú zákony svojim parkovaním na cyklo/chodníkoch, skracovaním si cesty po cyklo/chodníkoch, parkovaním na miestach, kde sa to nesmie (a zároveň je tým ohrozený chodec). Ideálny príklad je pozrieť sa v čase bohoslužieb okolo kostola vo Vrakuni, kde musí človek po cyklotrase kľučkovať pomedzi autá, ktoré na nej stoja. Po slušnom upozornení mi bolo vynadané do k*tov, hliadka MsP často ani nepríde kvôli vyťaženosti... Pohár trpezlivosti mi pretiekol, keď mňa a môjho syna priamo ohrozil na chodníku člen MO SR, lebo si skracoval cestu ku kostolu cez chodník... Naposledy, keď som ostal stáť s bikom na cyklochodníku, kde chcel istý pánko zaparkovať, tak sa mi dostalo vyhrážok a fotenia mojej osoby.
Už ma to nebaví, a rád by som bol zistil, či v BA existujú ľudia s podobným nastavením ako StopXam, ktorí takéto veci riešia - nie násilím, ale slušne, upozornením, "papierikom za stieračom", alebo hoci len tým, že sa nepohnú z cyklo/chodníka, ak tam chce nejaký mentálny atlét zaparkovať, či si skrátiť cestu.

Sorry za dlhší text - potreboval som to dostať von po pol roku uvažovania, či to tu napísať, či nie.

Zdar. Už niekoľko týždňov mám kurie oko a nie a nie sa ho zbaviť. Používal som Kolodium Forte ale nepomohlo. Čítal som, že sa to dá odstrániť vyrezaním, zmrazením alebo aj laserom. Vedeli by ste mi odporučiť, kde tu takéto veci robia? Vďaka.

I'm 21, junior Python developer, living in Bratislava and looking for my first job. After the thirtieth CV I sent by hand I gave up and wrote a script.

Every morning it collects new postings from Profesia.sk, NoFluffJobs, LinkedIn and a pile of international remote boards, and drops the ones there is no point applying to: other end of the country, 10 years of experience required, mandatory German, or a "developer" who turns out to be a real estate developer. Then it fills the company and the position into my cover letter and opens the posting. I paste, attach the CV and hit Send.

Four days: 879 applications, 2 interview invitations, 700+ companies viewed my profile. Two out of 879 is a normal ratio - the point is that it cost me four evenings instead of three weeks of them.

Two things I learned about the local boards that might save someone here time:

- Half of the junior roles on NoFluffJobs are actually Polish or German. The title is in English and tells you nothing, the required language only shows up in the posting detail.

- On Profesia a lot of "developer" listings are real estate. Filtering that one word out cleaned up a third of the queue.

Update: it is no longer just my Slovak setup. You give it a country code and your own keywords and it picks the local boards for you: Profesia.sk for Slovakia, Jobs.cz for Czechia, Pracuj.pl for Poland, NoFluffJobs across all of them, plus LinkedIn searched in your own country. It works the same for non-technical roles - the IT-specific filters turned out to be two lists, and emptying them is one line in the config.

Anything it does not support natively you add yourself, no code: any board that publishes an RSS feed (a saved search on that board counts), or a company's careers page straight from Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby. That last one is my favourite, jobs show up there days before any aggregator sees them.

I'm not selling anything, I just want to know if anyone else here would use it.

Cielom bolo vyriesit dva problemy:

1. Je tazke v dospelosti dnes najst kamaratov

2. Naucit sa zopar novych technologii (SvelteKit my beloved)

Uz mi bolo vytykane modmi z /r/slovakia, ze takychto stranok je ze vraj "plna prdel" a nikoho moj udajne vibecoded slop nezaujima :D

Stranka funguje jednoducho - zaregistrujes sa s google uctom, vyplnis kratke info o sebe a naplanuje ti to stretko s niekym random. Nevies kto to je az kym sa stretko neuskutocni. Pre bezpecnost ta to hodi do nejakej kaviarne alebo restauracie, nech to neni svedske stoly a-la Jeffrey Dahmer

Je tam uz zopar ludi aj z BA, tak sa skuste pridat ked sa nudite a hladate kamosov :D

I'm a 20-year-old Erasmus student from Portugal and I'll be studying at the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA) this semester.

I'm looking for a private studio or 1-bedroom apartment for one person, preferably in Petržalka, Ružinov/Nivy or another area with good public transport connections to EUBA.

I filmed this by the Danube River in Bratislava, early, as the city was waking up. We visited Bratislava a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely loved the city. Small and very walkable, and the Slovakian cuisine was delicious. I was also inspired by the Danube River to do this short video.

The river flows through ten countries, from the Black Forest in Germany to the Black Sea. Ten countries, countless landscapes, but one river. The Danube never stops being the same river.

A strong presentation works the same way. One message should run through the whole talk, from the opening line to the close.

Every story you tell, every example, every piece of data, every slide should support that message. They are the "tributaries" that feed your presentation just like smaller rivers feed the Danube. They don't compete with the message; they support it and make it flow stronger.

But the moment a second (or third or fourth) message gets introduced, the talk becomes a delta. Like the Danube at its end, the presentation splits into channels. And by the time it reaches the audience, all that momentum has spread out, slowed down, lost the force it had upstream.

One river reaches the sea with power. A delta just arrives.

Hi. I have a room for 1 in a 2-Bed Mixed Dorm at Safestay (https://www.safestay.com/venue/safestay-bratislava-presidential-palace) in Bratislava from 01.09 to 07.09 with breakfasts Included.
