The real punchline was always Alice's reaction.

Emma Chambers who played Alice Tinker died far too young, only 53, such a tragic loss. She played the part of Alice brilliantly.

There's an American pilot ep of this show with Kirsty Ally. The show is so British, why on earth would they even try.

They have done it with every single show lad. Pretty sure the office and shameless are the only successful American reboots. Maybe more though, don't take my word for it

They did it with Ghosts. Clumsy, dull and totally misses the warmth and brilliance of the original. They need to stop messing up good British comedies.

This clip is pointless without the lingering shot of confusion on Alice's face.

Anything with Dawn French in it will always be funny. I love her so much.

The punch line I heard to “What was the first thing Adam said to Eve?” was “Stand back, I don’t know how big this thing gets!”

Heh heh, this joke was lifted from that spoof Rainbow episode

To be fair the point of that segment (at the end of each episode) is that the jokes are old and most of the audience have heard them before, the real joke is Alice’s reaction as she is hearing them for the first time.

I had no idea I died in a car crash. Does that make this heaven then?

Big break was bilge. You're only remembering the highlights, there was an awful lot of dross always
