Feeling like I don't have much of a "style" right now, any tips?
31yo afab butch here, and for a while I've kind of been floating around in clothes that don't have much of a "fit" to them and nothing much more than plain T's and sweats or jeans. Some of that has been some body image issues making me want to wear oversized clothing to cover up what I don't like, but some of it has just been laziness/not having the money really to sink into a major wardrobe change. I feel like it makes me look lazy, too, though, and I feel like if I had a style that suited me, leaned in a more mature and "put-together" direction, I'd feel more confident wearing clothes that fit better...and just more confident in general.
I'm 5'4, slim but recently gained a little bit of a tummy (and hate when it's noticeable), and am kind of gravitating towards maybe fucking around with button-down shirts? A nice denim or leather jacket? But I have no idea really how to put together an entire outfit in that realm of style. Any advice on what sort of "staples" I should look for that aren't prohibitively expensive for someone with little to no income? Some visits to Goodwill/thrifting might be in my future lol...thanks in advance for any suggestions!
