I spend a lot of time between classes, so I need a boyfriend give me tips, ( yes, I study between classes) my major is pure math

I'm a grad student I have night classes and I commute pretty far. I often have to grab food before/after classes but I need food recs on campus and around the area. I like the halal truck outside of shepard, the NAC cafeteria imo is pretty crappy and its closed early anyways, and then sometimes I get random food from that farmers fridge thing. What else do yall get food at?? Give me the spots, I don't wanna be hoarding snacks in my bag this semester!

Hi guys! I have a really big confusion that I’ve been thinking about for almost half a semester, and I would really appreciate some honest advice from current or former CUNY students.

I’m currently a LaGuardia Community College student with a 4.0 GPA, and I’m planning to transfer for 2027. My ultimate goal is medical school, and honestly, I’m aiming for top-tier/Ivy League medical schools.

I’m mainly deciding between Hunter College and City College (CCNY).

If I go to CCNY, I’m planning to major in Biomedical Engineering. If I go to Hunter, I would probably pursue Biology/Neuroscience-related studies. Academically, I’m comfortable with both. I’m strong in mathematics and biology, good at memorization, and I enjoy critical thinking, so I don’t think the difficulty of either major would be a major problem for me.

The reason I’m interested in BME at CCNY is that my long-term medical interests are very specific: orthopedic surgery or interventional radiology. I’m interested in implant design, medical devices, imaging, and research, so BME seems like it could connect well with those interests.

However, one thing that concerns me about CCNY is that the pre-health committee letter has been discontinued. From what I understand, students now have to obtain individual recommendation letters themselves. Is this actually a significant disadvantage for someone trying to get into top medical schools, or is it basically not a big deal if you build strong relationships with professors, research mentors, and physicians?

Hunter seems to have a very strong pre-med culture, and I’ve heard that many Hunter students go on to schools such as Columbia, Harvard, Cornell, and NYU Grossman. I’ve also heard that Hunter has very dedicated pre-med students and strong advising/resources.

On the other hand, I’ve heard that Hunter classes can fill very quickly and that the coursework can be extremely rigorous. I’m also concerned about course registration as a transfer student. I won’t be entering through Macaulay Honors College, and because of my circumstances I wasn’t able to attend an honors college earlier. If I transfer with around 26 credits and a 4.0 GPA, are there any honors programs, priority registration opportunities, or other options available to transfer students at Hunter?

I also really love research. From what I’ve seen, CCNY seems to have a lot of research opportunities because of its science and engineering programs, but I’m not sure how that compares with Hunter in practice.

So, for someone in my situation, which would you choose: Hunter or CCNY?

I would especially appreciate advice from current/former students who have actually gone through the pre-med process at either school. If possible, please explain why you would choose one over the other—especially regarding:

Medical school admissions

Pre-med advising

Research opportunities

Clinical/shadowing opportunities

Recommendation letters

Course registration

GPA protection

Opportunities for leadership

Success of graduates getting into highly ranked medical schools

I’m not looking for someone to simply say “Hunter is better” or “CCNY is better.” I’d really appreciate some detailed, logical advice based on actual experience.

I’m a third-year Electrical Engineering PhD student at CCNY. Throughout the three years I’ve been here, we’ve experienced what feels like endless issues with pay: delayed monthly stipends, missing or late pay appointments, and travel reimbursements taking 5+ months to come through. All well we are still expected to come into lab and produce research for the university.

I’m curious if graduate students at other CUNY institutions are experiencing similar problems, and if so, what kind of material impact its had on your life. At CCNY I know students who have had to open credit cards and borrow money from family or friends just to cover rent and basic expenses while waiting to be paid.

The final deadline for any changes to our courses is this Thursday. I have taken the previous nuclear courses taught by Prof. Kawaji and have gotten a B, and B+, but had to drop reactor physics before. I decided to take Prof. Lakhankar's remote sensing course. It is my first time using QGIS, and I have started playing around with the software but I still feel intimidated by the learning curve. (I am also take Project Management) Remote sensing is online and Asynchronous, with the grades split between assignments, the final exam, and a project, while Reactor Physics puts more weight on the Midterm and Final Exam. Has anyone had professor Lakhankar before? Has anyone taken remote sensing before? Is it something that a beginner/ novice can get good at enough to get a decent grade in one semester?

Have a onewheel and would like to use it to commute to campus but worried security at the door is going to turn me away as official policy is not to bring them in. Just wondering if that's actually enforced. If I can't bring it in I don't want to leave it outside.

I got rejected even after appeal for Fall ‘26 and GSOE advised me to stay another semester at my current college. I’m in a coordinated engineering program at my current college. ATP I have already finished the maths required ( Calc l (A), Calc ll(D, retook and got A+), Calc lll C, Linear algebra(B)) Chem (C+) and physics l C. Has anyone been in a similar situation and got in ?

Should I apply as another major and do internal transfer? Or apply for another engineering and change once I’m in?

I also took other courses besides pre reqs. Current gpa 2.65.

I’m a freshman Mechanical Engineering major and worried about falling behind or taking longer than 4 years to graduate. Because I rely heavily on FAFSA, taking extra semesters isn't financially feasible for me.
Due to lots of delays in processing my AP credits, I wasn't able to enroll in any specific engineering courses for my first semester. My current schedule is:
Calc 2, English Composition, Intro to Anthropology, General Chemistry
I feel behind compared to other ME students and wanted to know any tips to catch up! I have around 20 AP credits (including AP Lit/Lang, Physics 1, APUSH, AP Macro, and AP Calc).

It will be great to be back on campus and see what is changed and what is still the same, and see people!
