Guns & Ammo Finally got a 26

She’s a sweetie. Compact, fun to shoot, and takes all my Glock mags, just about the perfect pistol in my eyes. Now I need a decent holster.

You’re not wrong

Perfect complement to an existing 17 or 19

I prefer full frame sidearms, but I like the 26 better than the 17.

Check the Glock Store for add ones. I put a Titanium guide rod in mine. I bought some +2 mag bottoms so I carry 12 rds.

My favorite gun. Get it milled for a dot!

I wanted to get mine ported but too much of a pain.

If you have a g19 holster, that should do it.

What would be the point of porting a 26? It's a bit antithetical to the purpose/use case for a 26 isn't it?

It’s because they compulsively “upgrade” or they won’t master handgun fundamentals.

Porting would keep it the same length but shoot much softer. Different than a comp

I understand what ports do. I was asking why someone would port a Glock 26

More just because it's ridiculous and looks cool lol. I have other ported guns and don't really believe the negatives outweigh the fun positives for me.

Haven't really found my 26 to be snappy. For whatever reason, as legend has it, the 26 shoots amazing and I've found that true for me. Something about not having your pinky on there and able to milk the grip during quick fire, I guess.

If the purpose / use case of a weapon is to deliver bullets into a target, how would making the weapon easier to handle be antithetical to that?

The drawbacks of porting a short barreled CCW outweigh the benefit of it shooting marginally softer imo

Because the g26 can be snappy in stock form

You're creating a lot of extra noise and flash, as well as potential issues with jacketed ammo, for your concealed carry. Ports will hurt ammo velocity in such a short barrel too, and cause potential issues with proper ammo expansion

Snappy? Nah! I actually find it softer and flatter shooting than most others around the same size. Now, my Hellcat OSP? That is snappy.

Aside from not having a perch for my pinky, my stock G26 shoots remarkably like my stock G19.

Guess I’ll test it out tomorrow with my 19 holster then. Thanks for the info.
